ethelprideState Archivist pays visit to Bethel HSState Archivist Jerry Handfield makes a special presentation to Maddie Bray, Tyler Brewer and Bethel High School teacher Jim Sawatski. Thestudents placed fifth in the State History Day Competition for their project on Affirmative Action. They also received the Washington StateArchives and Records Administration Award for “outstanding use of primary source materials from national archives.”Students win awards in history competitionLocal students have madesome history of their own atthe state’s National History Daycompetition.Of the 558 students who qualifiedfor state, 33 of them werefrom the Bethel area.
