A Letter from the President
As I look back over the past fifteen years as President of Caldwell College, I am
amazed at the growth of the College, both the spiritual, extracurricular and academic
achievements of our students, and the numerous physical changes here on campus.
None of this could have been accomplished without the support and generosity you have
shown throughout the years. When you read through the following pages acknowledging
the generosity of our alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends, just know that each of
them has his/her own story about Caldwell College, and these stories are all part of the
success we have achieved together.
I am proud to say that in 2008, Caldwell College continued along that road of success.
Our students are not only prepared to make their mark on their careers, but with a liberal
arts education as their foundation, they are prepared to make an impact on the world.
Academic rigor is a priority at Caldwell, along with giving back to the community. As
President, I have seen many students who are successful in both the classroom and in
their communities, and I am proud that I have played a part in their education.
The vision of the little college on the hill has changed over the years into a wonderful
institution built, not just on a foundation of higher education for those without access,
but also on the premise that an excellent liberal arts education, in the tradition of
St. Dominic, would continue to have an impact on our world for decades to come.
As we look back at all that has been accomplished, we are also looking ahead and
creating more pages in the history of Caldwell College.
Although my time here is coming to an end, this is really another new beginning for
Caldwell College. The College is currently in the process of developing the first Doctorate
level program in Applied Behavior Analysis, a well-developed field of study that has
been shown to be very effective in the education of those with autism. Caldwell College
recognized the demand for more programs to properly meet the needs of this growing
population by offering the first Master’s Degree Program in ABA in the State of New
Jersey. Now we are moving ahead by launching a Ph.D. Program. Imagine what else
we can accomplish together!
As the College enters the second decade of the 21st century we will be acknowledged
regionally as a significant contributor to the education and values of the next generation
of leaders; recognized for the quality of our faculty and staff, our programs, the
opportunities we offer our students and for the accomplishments of our alumni.
We will be able to achieve these goals and aspirations because of you our donors.
We are truly blessed to have so many loyal and wonderful supporters of the College.
