The<strong>DSI</strong> utilizes a dependableand reliable 200 Amp latchedrelay and combines it withthe powerful TWACS system.This combination permitsthe Customer ServiceRepresentative (CSR) todisconnect and reconnectindividually metered residentialor small commercial, singlephase200 Amp servicesremotely from the utility office.The <strong>DSI</strong> disconnects the electricservice to the home whileleaving the meter powered formonitoring or communicationpurposes.Remote Control - - FromUtility OfficeNo longer is it necessary tocreate a work order anddispatch a meter technician toremove or “boot” a meter. TheCSR or TWACS system operatorcan simply issue the commandfor an immediate or scheduleddisconnection. Reconnectionis equally easy. Each <strong>DSI</strong> isuniquely addressable basedon a secure, factory assignedidentity for the highest integrity.Remote communication isprovided via the TWACS systemwhich links the utility controlcenter and the meter site.Rapid confirmation of servicedisconnect or reconnect can beobtained within 20 seconds ofcommand initiation.Universal DesignThe <strong>DSI</strong>’s universal design fitsmost residential applications.Compatibility is assuredwith 200 Amp 4-jaw form2S and 5-jaw form 12S/25Sresidential sockets. The <strong>DSI</strong>works with meters both old andnew, electromechanical andelectronic. The <strong>DSI</strong> consists ofan interbase collar, a 200 Amplatched relay and a TWACScommunication module withan electronic switch controller.The collar has four (or five) jawsthat accept the blades from themeter on the topside and four(or five) blades that insert intoa standard meter socket on thebottom side.Utility and ConsumerBenefitsUtilities utilizing this productwill have at their disposal apowerful revenue collectiontool for problem accounts,as well as the ability toenhance customer service byproviding a convenience forseasonal and rental customers.Additionally, this improvesutility efficiency and personnelsafety by allowing connects anddisconnects to be performedfrom the convenience of theutility office. Thediagnostic register generatesan alarm flag that is sent tothe utility office if tamper isdetected.<strong>Switch</strong> Status LED andConnectPush-ButtonThe <strong>DSI</strong> offers two options toclose the switch: a) a directsoftware command from DCSI’smaster station software, orb) a two-step process thatallows the consumer to makesure their home is ready forconnection. First a softwarecommand is issued to armthe switch followed by theconsumer manually depressingthe “On” Push-Button.Low ProfileThe Low Profile designenhances the universal fitand minimizes any change ofappearance to the consumer’sservice. The use of the <strong>Disconnect</strong> <strong>Switch</strong> <strong>Interbase</strong> “<strong>DSI</strong>” permitting remote disconnect/connect may be subject to certain laws, regulations, and/or tariffs at the federal, stateand/or local level. Prior to utilizing such a feature, the user is responsible for compliance with all such laws, regulations and/or tariffs.
