PROGRAAM The onee year 60 ECCTS programm is offered in the Engllish languagee. The conssortium offerss a unique curriculum with mineeral resourcee and environmental couurses in a coombination wwhich is not found in a single Euuropean counntry or instituution. The studdy plan commprises two semesters wwhich are reeserved for aan 8 months joint curricculum at 4 universitiies. The studdents spend, as a group, half a semeester with each of the partners. The ggroup stays together for the entiree 8 months. After the joint program, in the firsst MSc year, the studentss choose to develop speecial expertise in one or the other aspect of Mining or MMinerals Enggineering. Thhey carry ouut the (masteers) thesis wwork under guidancee of their owwn university or by one oof the partner universitiess, which is mmost specialiised in that particular field. At thiss stage indusstry is often involved withh thesis projeects. Upon coompletion of the course the homee university and in somee cases otheer university( ies), at whicch the studennt completess the thesis project, aaward the M. Sc. degrees. The proggram is strongly supportted by the industry (more than 30 mmultinational companies) ). This has proven tto be one oof the most important faactors of its success. Intternships aree frequently offered to participatting studentss. Total enrrolment for 22011 was 500 students frrom 16 differrent countriees The progrram includedd 7 non EU students with an Eraasmus Munduus (E.M.) schholarship. Thhe low numbber of E.M. sstudents (18 in previous years) is the negativee effect fromm the new rulles, imposedd by Brusselss. The addition of non EEU students has a positive effect oon all three ooptions and ggives the EMMMEP programm a true multtinational apppearance. Due to thhe effects of the economiic crisis it toook until the faall of 2010 moore effort for r the studentss to receive job offerss than the pprevious year. Some studdents participated in thee internship pprograms organised by FEMP mmembers. Moost continentaal European students willl have to coomplete a theesis project bbefore they graduatee in 2012.
