Sub: 6 Months certificate course in A YUSH Nursing (Ayurveda) for ANM/GNM.
The Department of A YUSH Government of India in cooperation with School of Health Sciences, Indira
Gandhi Natronal Open 'University (IGNOU) has illitiated-a-certificate-'cotll"se-in A Y.USH-N-w.:sir.g (Ayurveda)
for ANM. The course will be launched from academic year 2012-2013. The course will be conducted by
IGNOU in 20 Ayurvedic Colleges (list annexed) throughout the country, identified by Department of A YUSH
as Programme Study Centers. Every Center will have admission capacity for 30 students having ANM/GNM
qualification and already in service. This will be a six months training course out of which 50% would be
hands on training to be imparted by the existing Ayurveda faculty in identified centers and 50% would be
self-learning by the students. The study material will be provided by IGNOU to all the participants, the cost
of which is included in the course fees. The course fee of Rs. 15,00/- per candidate for the first batch
admitted in academic year 2012-2013 would be reimbursed by the Department of A YUSH, Government of
India directly to iGNOU on successful completion of the course by the candidates.
You are requested to nominate 30 in service ANM/GNM in Ayurveda Hospitals in your States for
training at the Ayurveda Colleges identified in your State. Although this courses design for all the
ANM/GNM even then for the first year preference may be given to ANM/GNM employed in Ayurveda
Hospitals in the States. In case of non-availability of ANM/GNM in the Ayurveda Hospitals then the
interested ANM/GNM in the allopathic hospitals may be nominated for training in this course.
The names of the selected candidates may be informed to IGNOU under intimation to the undersigned.
