1. Hymer meets market demand with 2005 product drive
Hymer, Europe’s leading manufacturer of motorhomes and caravans, is responding to
market and customer demand for greater variety in the Hymer range and is launching a
product drive as has never been seen before.
Since a growing interest by many customers, particularly new prospective buyers, has
been registered in an extension of the product range – both horizontally (variety of
types) and vertically (price structure) – Hymer has decided to rise to this market
demand for model year 2005.
All in all, Hymer is presenting twelve motorhome ranges with 44 models and
51 additional variants for the new season. In the caravan sector, there will be three
ranges in future with 43 models and 23 additional variants.
With this wide variety, Hymer is seen as the only manufacturer industry-wide which
covers the entire leisure vehicle spectrum: in the motorhome sector from the Hymer
Exsis, the fully equipped compact motorhome with driver-friendly features, to the luxury
motorhome - and in the caravan sector from the compact, small caravan all the way to
the autonomous luxury caravan with all mod cons.
Hymer has also risen to the market demands in terms of price structure. Based on
Hymer quality of universal repute and recognition, the array of models now
encompasses product lines exhibiting a very favourable price-performance ratio as well
as absolutely up-market products.
The facts prompting this decision are the constant growth of interest in Hymer products
and the request often expressed in economically difficult times – particularly by young
families – for affordable vehicles for mobile recreational activity.
What lies behind the increased interest in mobile leisure time, and particularly in Hymer
vehicles?
Page 2
In general, the situation in terms of world politics has propelled the advantages of
caravaning as a leisure form, with its “down-to-earth” mode of travel and destinations,
back towards the centre of interest. Apart from being extremely family-friendly and
catering for a large number of individual recreational options, caravaning goes a very
long way to satisfying the desire for "safe" holidays.
This is also documented by figures issued by the CIVD (Association of Caravan
Manufacturers) reflecting a 5.8 percent decrease for caravans from September 1, 2003
to May 31, 2004. At the same time the number of newly registered motorhomes rose
by 4.6 percent.
Hymer figures for the period of September 2003 to May 2004 show a similarly clear
trend. Hymer motorhomes sales (compared to the same period of the previous year)
increased 14.9 percent and caravan sales increased 5.9 percent.
The reasons for increased - and constantly increasing - interest in Hymer are manifold.
Firstly, it is the good reputation of the company, which ranks among the most
innovative companies across the industry and is steeped in tradition. Hymer is
regarded in the leisure vehicle sector as a generic name for motorhomes, like
“Kleenex” for tissues or “Persil” for washing powder. Many prospective buyers
associate with a “Hymer” the positive product qualities of an industry leader, whose
products are founded on years of expertise and know-how, technological innovation
and above-average safety standards.
What is more, Hymer’s exclusive and comprehensive range of HymerCard services
means it belongs to those companies in the industry offering high-quality products
topped by a unique service package.
A further reason behind the high demand for Hymer products – particularly among the
new prospective buyers – is the remarkable success of Hymer-rent.
Page 3
In the fifth year since it was founded, there are meanwhile 71 Hymer-rent locations in
12 countries. In co-operation with DERTOUR, Hymer-rent is also represented in
11,000 travel agencies. The practical and convenient online internet presence registers
a monthly average of 8,000 visitors calling 250,000 pages, ensuring further strong
public awareness. With this positioning at the diverse points of sale, the continuously
increasing number of potential customers finds the entire spectrum of tailored Hymer
products in seven vehicle classes: from the Hymer Exsis, through the alcove
motorhomes, all the way to the luxurious, integrated vehicles. All the vehicles represent
the current model generation and convey an enduring impression of modern leisure
vehicle quality - and of caravaning in general as a holiday style.
In addition to this “hands-on” approach to addressing customers and new prospective
buyers, Hymer has been engaged in very intensive cross-marketing for years. Here
Hymer enters into goal-oriented marketing co-operation with large, well-known
industrial concerns which come from caravaning-related lines of business or supply
active motorhome or caravaning enthusiasts’ requirements. In this way sales
promotion campaigns with, for instance, Galeria Kaufhof, Kraft Foods, Müller Milch,
and media co-operations with Southwest German Radio (SWR) and the Bild am
Sonntag newspaper are carried out, addressing and informing many millions of
consumers about Hymer, its products and about caravaning as a leisure-time form.
These successful marketing measures add up to produce an increased demand –
horizontally (product breadth) and vertically (price depth) – which Hymer is meeting
with the following 2005 product drive:
The Exsis, which made its world debut last year, has been optimised in details. The
patented PUAL body shell guarantees optimum stability, top insulation and hence
winter-proofing, features shared by all Hymer motorhomes alike. The layout of the
debut model continues to offer various configuration options for the bench seats and
single seats. This year a further layout is added, offering a larger berth in the living
area as well. In addition there will be a more powerful engine version.
Page 4
The alcove sector is extended by the Hymer C-Classic as basic version. The Hymer
C-Class is unchanged and the Hymer C-Class GT has been completely re-styled. The
Hymer C-Classic represents a most reasonably priced motorhome, particularly for
young families.
The Hymer T-Classic and Hymer T-Class GT with Fiat chassis, the Hymer T-Class M GT
with Mercedes chassis and the Hymer T-Class R GT with Renault chassis compose
the range of semi-integrated motorhomes. Compared to the previous year, Hymer is
thus adding two model ranges to this array of products. In addition to the new Renault
chassis, Hymer is offering – in response to respective demand – a very attractively
priced semi-integrated model in the Hymer T-Classic.
The line of Hymermobil B-Class vehicles, Hymer’s best-selling motorhomes, comprises
three model ranges in the coming season: the B-Classic with a new exterior design
and new layouts, the B-Class and B-Star-Line. The Hymermobil B-Classic M is
discontinued.
The Hymermobil S-Class range is extended by the S 830 model, offering longitudinal
single beds in the rear area for the first time in its class.
The caravan sector is included in Hymer’s 2005 product drive with the completely new
Eriba Living range and with the Eriba Nova range, which has undergone some
fundamental revision.
Hymer has accommodated the increased demand and specific desire of young families
for caravans particularly with the new Eriba Living range, superseding the Eriba Swing.
The Eriba Living is styled in a modern design and has innovative features at an
extremely attractive price-performance ratio.
The Eriba Nova underwent a full make-over, inside and outside. As a premium product,
its interior appointments have been modelled on the tried-and-tested, popular
Hymermobil B-Class. The Eriba Moving is available as an autonomy package for all
Page 5
Eriba Nova models of the 2005 generation. This extended selection will readily satisfy
all customers’ requests for this popular type.
The compact Eriba Touring range, produced at Hymer for almost 50 years now,
continues to hold cult status among caravans. It is offered in an almost unchanged
variety of models with a minor face-lift and some changes to details.
With the 2005 product drive, Hymer is not only meeting the top-to-bottom market
demand, but, as the industry leader, it is assuming an impressive market position over
the competition as a manufacturer offering a full and unparalleled range of products.
2.2 Exsis
The Exsis, which made its world debut last year as the first motorhome with compact
dimensions, driver-friendly features and all the advantages of a fully equipped
motorhome, has successfully established itself in the market.
For model year 2005 more powerful engine versions are offered. From October (only
for manual transmission) a 146 HP engine, 2.8 litre with Ducato chassis 15/18 will be
available. This new engine applies universally to all Hymer motorhomes with Ducato
15/18 chassis. In addition, a 2.0 litre engine is available for the Exsis with Ducato 11,
and a 2.3 or 2.8 litre JTD (also with automatic transmission) with Ducato 15 or 18.
In model year 2005 there are two models, the Exsis SK and the Exsis SG. The
Exsis SG presents a new layout meeting customers’ requests for a larger bed on the
“ground floor”. This version now has a seating group convertible to form a bed. The
standard bed dimensions are then approx. 1.20/0.90 metres x 1.89 metres or with
widening element 1.40/1.10 metres x 1.89 metres.
The new Exsis SG features a (two-burner) hob/sink combination sunk into a laminated
top in the kitchen area. In all the other models a completely new kitchen is integrated,
this being the kitchen version from the Hymer C-Class including a three-burner hob
and sink as well as a convenient working surface.
The centre table design in the living area of the Exsis SK has been optimised. The
tabletop now has two folding sides, permitting more freedom of movement. The table
leg mount is sunk into the floor.
The sleeping area in the roof region has also undergone basic change. The lifting bed
is about 15 centimetres longer and has a comfortable length of about 2.05 metres.
The washroom has a new 2-part wooden door for more convenient partitioning. A
swivelling washbasin, rotating toilet and a curtain for splash protection when having a
Page 8
shower serve to make best use of the space. The Exsis has a Truma boiler (10 litres)
and a separate Truma E 4000 heater.
The rear storage space is lined with easy-to-clean Tapiflex. The waste water tank
(75 litres) is in the insulated rear area, on the left in the direction of travel. The fresh
water tank (100 litres) is on the right in the direction of travel. The gas capacity is two
bottles with 11 kilograms each.
The Exsis has the same body shell design as all other Hymer motorhomes. The roof
section is made of double-skinned glass-fibre reinforced plastic with PU insulating
foam. The 30 millimetre thick side walls and the rear wall are constructed using the
Hymer PUAL technology familiar from the Hymermobil B-Class which, with rounded
edges, ensures special aerodynamic and winter-proofing characteristics.
The floor composed of a 30 millimetres thick insulated plate has a new covering
corresponding to the Hymer C-Class flooring.
The Exsis therefore has not only all the advantages of a motorhome, its compact
dimensions (2.06 metres wide, 5.45 metres long and 3.05 metres high) and driver-
friendly features mean it is also absolutely suitable for use in the town. It can be used
equally well as a family vehicle for driving around town or for ferrying the children, or as
a transport vehicle for shopping at the supermarket or DIY store. Whether it’s a
relaxing short trip for cultural or sports pursuits or an extended holiday trip, this Hymer
motorhome – the only one of its type in the world – turns it into a unique experience.
The Exsis comes in a range of colour options exceptional for a motorhome: white, red,
blue and silver.
In the new model year, optional extras offered are a motorcycle rack, a solar cell
(75 Watts, SM 300 M), a satellite antenna (Caro / Caro Digital CI) and a central locking
system which now also locks the living room door.
Page 9
An Exsis package offers a 97 litre refrigerator, the Hymer panoramic roof vent with
lighting, a textile feature which can be used for storing newspapers, additional holders
for keys and other accessories, a folding darkening system for the driver's cabin, a
spoiler in the colour of the skirting and an awning light.
The entry-level price for an Exsis continues to stand at 39,990 euros in the new
season.
2.3 Hymer C-Classic
The Hymer C-Classic represents an affordable alcove model particularly for young
families. Hymer has paid attention that - while featuring a comprehensive range of
Hymer-quality appointments - this vehicle offers a price-performance ratio in keeping
with the financial resources of the target group.
The completely new range is entering the market with three family-friendly models to
begin with. The Hymer C-Classic 524 has a dinette and bunk bed (alternatively:
dinette / rear single bed with garage); the C-Classic 644 has a dinette and a curved
seating arrangement (alternatively: dinette / double bed with garage) and the C-Classic
684 offers the version with two dinettes and a bunk bed. On the basis of their layouts
all three models are over six metres long.
The Hymer C-Classic on a Fiat Ducato chassis has an attractive outside appearance
with smooth plate. The alcove is of classical style with an optically elegant, elongate
contour. The patented PUAL body shell guarantees that these models are “winterized”,
a feature shared by all Hymer motorhomes alike. The rear light moulding is reminiscent
of the Hymermobil B-Classic and the logo integrated in the front section clearly
identifies the vehicle as a Hymer motorhome.
In the living area, accessed through an entrance door centrally placed in the body, the
furnishing in Ligurian alder wood finish conveys a warm atmosphere. Finishing profiles
in aluminium-look lend a young, modern air to the ambience.
The features of the Hymer C-Classic 524 and Hymer C-Classic 644 include a medium-
height (1.60 metres) wardrobe at the front right and a cabinet in the rear area next to
the kitchen. These two elements give the generously furnished living area a pleasantly
spacious appearance.
The kitchen equipment with round sink, rounded hob and new taps is modern, elegant
and highly practical. An L-shaped kitchen is offered in the Hymer C-Classic 684.
Page 12
All the models have a spacious toilet with separate shower. The floor cupboards and
the corner cupboard are made of wood, contributing to a cosy yet elegant feel.
In the Hymer C-Classic 524 and Hymer C-Classic 684 models, the lower bunk bed is
foldable and so provides additional storage space. As an optional extra in the Classic
range, an alcove bed can be supplied which swings up to allow convenient integration
of the driver’s cabin in the living area.
A bed widening element is offered as an optional extra for the central seating area.
Further optional features are the Camping Car Special package for Ducato 15 (all
vehicles with manual transmission and 2.3 or 2.8 litre engine are equipped with TCS, a
rear axle reinforced from 1,900 kilograms to 2,000 kilograms and wide tyres). In
addition, a three-point belt is available for a seventh person (Hymer C-Classic 684).
The finishing touches are a Hymer panoramic roof vent for the living area, a 21 litre
cool box for the kitchen area, a folding shower door for the washroom and a Hymer
panoramic roof vent for the toilet area.
There are two attractive packages of extra equipment offered:
For the version with Ducato 15 comprising: SMV weight increase kit (reinforcement of
the rear axle suspension by various components, increasing the maximum permitted
laden weight from 3.4 tons to 3.5 tons), Hymer panoramic roof vent with lighting,
alcove window at the left, awning light with rain shield, mosquito net door, 21 litre cool
box and heated alcove.
For the version with Ducato 18 comprising: Hymer panoramic roof vent with lighting,
alcove window on the left, awning light with rain shield, mosquito net door, 21 litre cool
box and heated alcove.
The basic version of the Hymer C-Classic is available for less than 40,000 euros.
2.4 Hymer C-Class
The innovative concept of the Hymer C-Class on a Fiat Ducato chassis was introduced
for the first time two years ago and the model has positioned itself successfully in the
market. Therefore only minor updating modifications have been made for the new
season.
The family-friendly alcove vehicle, which is often used only by two persons, is
coming to market in the 2005 season with five models (C-Class 494, C-Class 524,
C-Class 544 K, C-Class 544, C-Class 644). New in the Hymer C-Class 494 is an
internal, extra storage space at the rear, which can be used for camping furniture. Last
season’s C-Class 594 is discontinued.
The chassis used in this range is the Fiat Ducato 15/18 with the 2.3 litre JTD or 2.8 litre
JTD engine and, from October 2005, the new, more powerful engine (only for manual
transmission) with 2.8 litres and 146 HP. All Ducato 15/18 chassis come with ABS as
standard for enhanced safety. A Camping Car Special package means all vehicles with
manual transmission and 2.3 or 2.8 litre engines can be provided with TCS, a rear axle
reinforced from 1,900 kilograms to 2,000 kilograms and wide tyres. For all vehicles with
Ducato 15 a maximum permitted laden mass of 3.5 tons is standard.
The attractive outer design is unchanged. The splash water seals in the locker door
area and the rubber lip replacing the brush element used so far, increase the water
proofing so as to prevent the ingress of water as a result of high pressure when the
vehicle is washed or in extreme weather conditions.
Hymer guarantees enhanced safety by using special stainless steel guard plates in the
wheel arches to prevent them or the vehicle floor from being penetrated in the event of
a tyre burst.
The living area has Hymer-produced furniture in Ligurian alder wood finish in a self-
supporting design that has proven to be stable and uses high-quality plywood.
Page 17
Spacious overhead storage cupboards and removable swivel trays with soft-touch
application offer plenty of readily accessible storage space.
The kitchen with 97 litre refrigerator, three-burner hob with automatic ignition in Ceran-
look, a sink in modern styling and a working surface in Corian design is generously and
practically equipped.
The “Connect” Fiat navigation system and cruise control are available as optional
extras. A further option is the convenient folding darkening system for the driver’s
cabin. The Duomatic L Plus is offered for enhanced convenience in gas bottle use. The
Fantastic-Vent roof vent is available as an optional extra.
Following successful extended time and stability tests, Hymer offers the assembly of a
bicycle rack for four bikes upon request. The motorcycle rack has also been fully re-
engineered and offers more convenient handling with a 20 centimetres lower loading
height.
There is also an attractive “Camping Plus Pack” comprising a Hymer panoramic roof
vent with light, alcove window on the left, awning light with rain shield, mosquito net
door, insulated and heatable waste water tank and a slat frame for the alcove.
Page 18
2.5 Hymer C-Class GT
The Hymer C-Class GT range will come off the line for the 2005 season with three
newly designed models, the C-Class 524 GT, C-Class 544 GT and C-Class 614 GT.
All the layouts are based on the Hymermobil B-Class concept. The 524, 544 and 644
models of the previous year are discontinued.
In the alcove vehicle category, the Hymer C-Class GT has in addition to the winterized
PUAL body shell, the Hymer double floor. With an overall height of only 2.95 or
3.0 metres - depending on chassis – the GT offers excellent clearance and, by virtue of
the lowered frame, a long-cargo channel over 20 centimetres high accommodating
even bulky articles.
The external design of the range is complemented by a new grey colour of the side
wall. The body door affording more convenient access to the living area is new, with an
added 35 millimetres in width and 9 millimetres in height and an optional mosquito net.
Also new is the optional regulation of water tank volume between 70 and 120 litres.
The 524 model comes with a new, second garage door as standard, on the left in the
direction of travel. As in the Hymer C-Class range, the GT models are equipped with
splash water seals for the external locker doors and stainless steel guard plates in the
wheel arches.
In the 2005 season the living area is graced by the Lugano pear wood furnishing
concept (familiar from the Hymermobil B-Class) with overhead storage cupboard flaps
– in the kitchen area made of translucent glass. The new PVC flooring corresponds to
the B-Class décor. A new item is an alcove bed which swings up to allow convenient
integration of the driver’s cabin in the living area, giving the feeling of space one has in
a semi-integrated motorhome.
All Hymer C-Class GT vehicles have an amply dimensioned kitchen with raised
refrigerator. The 524 GT and 614 GT have rotating driver’s and front passenger’s seats
Page 19
as well as an L-shaped seating group as standard. For the 544 GT the L-shaped
seating group is offered as an optional extra.
All GT vehicles are equipped with a folding alcove and have a two-ply insulating curtain
for partitioning the driver’s cabin.
What is more, there is an attractive C-Class GT Comfort Pack comprising a 150 litre
refrigerator, a mosquito net door, an entrance step (2-step) with switch in the driver’s
cabin, a folding darkening system for the driver’s cabin and a burl wood finish design in
the cockpit.
2.6 Hymer T-Classic
Hymer has fully revised the semi-integrated motorhome collection for the coming
season. In model year 2005 there are four ranges: the Hymer T-Classic, Hymer
T-Class GT, Hymer T-Class M GT and Hymer T-Class R GT. Last year’s Hymer
T-Class and Hymer T-Class M ranges are discontinued.
Along the lines of the Hymer C-Classic, the Hymer T-Classic represents a semi-
integrated vehicle which – while ensuring Hymer quality and comfort – offers an above-
average price-performance ratio. Financially therefore it facilitates entry into the world
of semi-integrated motorhomes, particularly for new prospective buyers.
The Hymer T-Classic on a Fiat Ducato 15 flat-bottom chassis is presented in classical
white with silver, and silver and blue-grey Hymer stripes. As with all Hymer
motorhomes, the logo on the radiator grille tells you straight away that it’s a Hymer.
The T-Classic 655 model offers a French bed at the rear and the combination of
seating group with semi-dinette and longitudinal bench seat. It goes without saying that
the driver’s and passenger’s seats rotate and can be integrated in the living area.
In the living area the T-Classic has a furnishing scheme of its own with indirect lighting
under the overhead storage cupboards. The furniture flaps feature the Ligurian alder
wood finish, silver-coloured trims add an attractive highlight to the scheme. The
furniture finish for counters and tables is coordinated in appearance to the overall
scheme.
The corner kitchen provides a generous cooking and working surface and a 97 litre
refrigerator integrated in the tall cupboard comes as standard.
A fridge-freezer combination and an oven are available as optional extras. Further
options are ABS and weight increase to 3.5 tons.
Page 24
The basic price for the semi-integrated Classic version with Ducato 15, 2.8 litre JTD is
at 42,900 euros.
There are two attractive packages offered for the Hymer T-Classic:
For the Ducato 15 version comprising SMV weight increase kit, 150 litre refrigerator,
Hymer panoramic roof vent with light, awning light and pre-installation of radio.
For the Ducato 18 version comprising a 150 litre refrigerator, Hymer panoramic roof
2.7 Hymer T-Class GT
Hymer has created an entirely new motorhome range for model year 2005: the Hymer
T-Class GT. Four models in all are offered – the T-Class 574 GT, 575 GT, 655 GT and
664 GT.
Except for the 664 GT, all the GT models are based on Fiat Ducato 15 with Camping
Car Special package. The 664 GT with flat-bottom chassis with lowered frame has a
garage.
All T-Class vehicles have a new semi-alcove with round outer look and an optional
glass roof with darkening facility, as well as a new automotive driver’s cabin
connection. The side walls are in grey – modelled on the Hymermobil B-Class. The
front naturally features the Hymer logo integrated in the radiator grille. The door
affording more convenient access to the living area is new, with an added
35 millimetres in width and 9 millimetres in height and a mosquito net.
Inside, the living and sleeping area are modelled on the B-Class concept. The
furnishing in Lugano pear wood finish and the compartments in the rear area have
green glass elements and integrated speakers. The floor has the tried-and-tested PVC
covering also used in the B-Class models.
The kitchen scheme was also adopted from the B-Class – but without the central
locking function for the drawers. The working area features a round stainless steel
sink, complemented by a three-burner hob also of circular design in keeping with
ergonomic findings, so as to generate extra working surface. The translucent acrylic
glass with a greenish shimmer on the face of the overhead storage cupboard gives the
kitchen area a special look.
The washroom offers a separate shower. The washbasin in the rear washrooms is
made of stainless steel. The cupboards in furniture wood finish convey a homely
atmosphere and add their touch to the elegant furnishing.
Page 27
The Hymer T-Class 574 GT measures approx. 6.36 metres, the shortest model in this
range. The tailored two-person vehicle is available only with the layout comprising
longitudinal bench seat, French bed and rotating seats in the driver’s cabin.
The Hymer T-Class 575 GT, comfortably accommodating four persons, comes with a
French bed and alternatively with dinette (seats in driver’s cabin do not rotate) or large
L-shaped bench seat.
The Hymer T-Class 655 GT with French bed at the rear offers two variants: firstly the
option of seating group plus longitudinal bench seat, and secondly two longitudinal
bench seats.
The only model without French bed is the 664 GT. Here there is a choice of transversal
bed at the rear or (as optional extra) garage combinable with seating group or two
longitudinal bench seats.
In the way of optional extras, a 150 litre refrigerator, an oven and the Oxycom fresh-air
cooling system are available. As a further optional extra, the customer can order a
glass roof with darkening facility for the semi-alcove.
There are attractive packages of extra equipment offered for this range as well:
T-Class GT Comfort package (only for Hymer T-Class 575 GT), consisting of mosquito
net door, folding darkening system and burl wood finish.
T-Class GT Fiat Comfort package (all models except 575 GT), consisting of 150 litre
refrigerator, mosquito net door, folding darkening system and burl wood finish.
2.10 Hymermobil B-Classic
The B-Classic range has been streamlined according to the maxim that quantity is not
the measure of all things. Instead of the former six models, there are only three models
in the 2005 season – two of them with new layouts. The B-Classic 664 presents the
versions of seating group plus rear transversal bed or seating group plus garage (as an
optional extra). The B-Classic now has the proven layout of the B-Class 544 model.
The B-Classic 655 model and the familiar layout of seating group plus longitudinal
bench seat or two longitudinal bench seats complete the range. The B-Classic 584,
575, 595 and B-Classic M 575 were discontinued.
The chassis used in this range is the Fiat Ducato 15/18 with the 2.3 litre JTD or 2.8 litre
JTD engine (and, from October 2005, also the 2.8 litre, 146 HP version). All Ducato
15/18 chassis come with ABS as standard for enhanced safety. A Camping Car
Special package means all vehicles with manual transmission and 2.3 or 2.8 litre
engines are provided with TCS, a rear axle reinforced from 1,900 kilograms to
2,000 kilograms and wide tyres. For all vehicles with Ducato 15 a maximum permitted
laden mass of 3.5 tons is standard.
Overall this range has been given a slight face-lift in the style of the Hymermobil
B-Class. The PUAL roof and side section connections insulated for winter use are
rounded, the spoiler has been totally redeveloped and the Hymer logo has, of course,
been integrated in the radiator grille. In common with all Classic-Line models, the outer
side walls are in white. There are also new, practical supply modules for power and
water.
The living area is graced with high-quality furniture, the flaps with quality-crafted
frames made of real wood and the furnishing in Ligurian alder wood finish all going to
create an attractive appearance.
Page 37
New is the high-quality, fore window with inner frame, as well as pleated blind and
mosquito net. Also new is an operating panel now also allowing the capacity of the
living area battery to be measured.
In all B-Classic vehicles the washroom now has a separate shower with folding door as
standard. Floor cupboards and corner cupboards in furniture wood finish form part of
the elegant furnishing.
A 150 litre refrigerator is available as an optional extra for all the models. The monitor
of the reversing camera system now also provides colour pictures at extra charge. The
customer can order the Oxycom fresh-air cooling system as an option.
The additionally available B-Classic package comprises Hymer panoramic roof vent
with light, mosquito net door, folding darkening system for the driver’s cabin, pre-
installation of radio and club seats.
2.11 Hymermobil B-Class
For the 18th time, the Hymermobil B-Class, Europe’s most successful integrated
motorhome, was voted “motorhome of the year” in its class again this year.
The complete makeover of this range last year was rewarded with an above-average
sales success. For this reason, the Hymermobil B-Class lines up for the 2005 season
with an absolutely identical range of layouts and a few minor equipment modifications.
Thirteen models offer a total of 36 possible variations.
In addition to the winter-proof PUAL body shell, all B-Class vehicles have the Hymer
double floor, which with an overall vehicle height of only 2.85 or 2.90 metres –
depending on chassis – offers excellent clearance and, by virtue of the lowered frame,
a long-cargo channel over 20 centimetres high accommodating even bulky articles
On the outside, all B-Class models shine with their grey side walls, front part with
integrated Fiat crash-box, silver radiator grille and headlights enclosed in aluminium
design rings. Optically enhanced rear lights and elegant design stickers make for a
characteristic, uniform Hymer look.
The door of the driver’s cabin has a reinforced handle and can be equipped with
insulation glass and a BKS-lock as optional extras.
New for the 2005 model year: all vehicles with a garage (small and large version) have
a second large access door for the garage area, which is situated on the left in the
direction of travel. The door dimensions of the large garages were considerably
increased, so that even Quads, for example, can easily be stored.
There is also a new, larger body door - 35 millimetres wider and 9 millimetres higher –
which enables easier access to the living space. The revolution in the interior of the
B-Class with innovative ideas and functional comfort has established itself. The living
Page 42
area of the B-Class – for the version with a dinette – has a comfort seating
arrangement with soft upholstery and a free-standing table which can be adjusted
either sideways or lengthways. This ensemble offers an above average degree of
convenience. The storage space of the rounded box under the seats is easily
accessible by means of a roller-mounted drawer. Alternatively, versions with an
L-shaped seating group or a longitudinal bench seat behind the driver’s seat are
available.
As the design of the living area furniture, i.e. the comfort seating arrangement, does
not allow a functional bed construction, the models B 544, 564, 624 and 644 are also
still available on request in the conventional dinette version.
The LED-like tube lamp in the entrance (next to a convenient entry handle in the
kitchen body) provides not only a cosy atmosphere but also functional lighting. The
same lighting technology is also integrated in the free-standing corner of the wardrobe
in several models. In addition to soft-tone spotlights with transparent covering, Hymer
uses the innovative railing lighting for the standard light, which achieves higher
efficiency and elegance with individually adjustable spotlights. Also new is an operating
panel now also allowing the capacity of the living area battery to be measured.
The kitchen area is functional and the work space is equipped with a round stainless
steel sink. In addition to the round sink, the three-burner hob is also ergonomically
rounded to generate additional work space. In the area of the kitchen window, a
functional shelf is mounted on the frame. The translucent acrylic glass with a greenish
shimmer on the face of the overhead storage cupboard gives the kitchen area a
special look.
Central locking, which engages on both sides and reliably prevents the drawers from
opening accidentally, provides exclusive safety for all kitchen drawers (with the
exception of corner kitchens). With the models B 544 and B 564 it is possible to order
an oven with a side-hinged door for the tall cupboard. For all models with a tall
cupboard, a 150 litre refrigerator is also available as an optional extra.
Page 43
The B-Class revolution continues in the shower area. Most B-Class vehicles are
spaciously equipped with a separate shower cubicle, normally as a round shower with
a two-section door. In addition, a smaller version is available with the Vario shower,
with a swivelling sliding door element to separate off the shower area. The shower
rooms in the B-Class are generally fitted as standard with a large winding roof-light.
The makeover of the sleeping area was also successful. As requested by customers,
more single bed variants are being offered. The rear bed variants have overhead
storage cupboards with integrated storage shelf. With double bed variants, Hymer
supplies two separate mattresses which are easy to remove and clean. These
separate mattresses also improve sleeping comfort, as one partner does not disturb
the other with restless sleep.
The aluminium slat frames, where the wooden slat system is safely stored in the
aluminium frame, provide comfortable beds like at home. In addition, high quality
breathable innerspring mattresses with healthy heat and moisture regulation ensure
maximum sleeping comfort. The innerspring mattresses are also equipped with
excellent point elasticity which supports the body and have a long service life.
The comfortable wedge-shaped head rest for the transversal bed version in the models
B 614 and B 644 with a bed width of 1.50 metres also found favour with customers.
Positioned on the left in the direction of travel, it can be fixed in various positions to
enable upright sitting, comfortable reading, a suitable position for watching TV or a
pleasant sleeping position when folded down.
The rear walls of the sleeping area have textile covers. The cloth pockets fixed to the
rear wall provide additional practical storage space for small objects. The attached
pockets with wood appliqué at the Velcro fastener blend in harmoniously with the
room. Additional small pockets for storing spectacles are located on the wardrobe and
in the vicinity of the fold-down bed.
Page 44
In the version with front overhead storage cupboards – i.e. no front bed – the driver’s
cabin is equipped as standard with a sun blind.
Among the successful models of the B-Class, the following vehicles deserve special
mention:
With the B 504, this range includes a compact two-person vehicle under six metres in
length.
The B 514 fulfills the request of many customers for a compact model with a large
garage like the B-Star-Line 630 but on a Fiat chassis.
The new version of the B 524 is 30 centimetres longer but has a separate shower. This
also applies to the B 544, which also has an L-shaped kitchen.
Special wishes of customers are fulfilled with the B 654 with a French bed and by the
models B 674 with a length of under seven metres and single beds as well as the
B 774, also with single beds.
Optional extras include xenon light, the Fiat navigation system “Connect” and cruise
control. For more convenient handling of the gas bottles, the Duomatic L Plus is
supplied instead of the Triomatic and in addition the Fantastic-Vent roof vent. Optional
extras include a bicycle rack for four bicycles and a telescopic, lowerable motorcycle
rack.
The monitor of the reversing camera system now also provides colour pictures at extra
charge and the satellite antenna Caro digital or Caro digital CI provides images from
orbit. The Oxycom fresh air cooling system provides good air-conditioning. The
C-heating 6002 (230 V) with priority electrical heating 2 x 1,000 Watts is available for
the models B 614, 624, 634, 644, 654, 674 and B 774.
Page 45
There are three attractive packages of extra equipment offered:
Comfort package 1, consisting of concertina darkening system, mosquito net door, fog
lights and pre-installation of radio.
Comfort package 2 (for B 524, 544, 564, 584, 614, 624, 644, 654 and 774), consisting
of 150 litre refrigerator, concertina darkening system, mosquito net door, fog lights and
pre-installation of radio.
Last but not least there is the “Arctic package“, which enhances the winter-proofing of
the vehicle, comprising an insulating mat for the footwell of the driver’s cabin, an
insulating mat for the windscreen (outside), additional heating Truma E 2400 and
insulation glass for the side windows of the driver’s cabin.
2.12 Hymermobil B-Star-Line
The Hymermobil B-Star-Line range on a Mercedes chassis is unchanged for the 2005
season, with four models and three additional versions.
The B-Star-Line 630, either on a 3.5 ton or 4.6 ton chassis, offers the layout versions of
seating arrangement plus transversal bed or garage and L-shaped seating group also
with transversal bed or garage. The B-Star-Line 655 (3.5 ton chassis) has a variant
with a seating arrangement or alternatively with two longitudinal bench seats. The
B-Star-Line 680 (4.6 ton chassis) offers variants with dinette or L-shaped seating
group, each of which can be combined with either a rear transversal bed or garage.
The B-Star-Line 700 (4.6 ton chassis) is available in a bar version and with a choice of
either rear transversal bed or garage.
The equipment features shown in the Hymermobil B-Class section and the many
technical and functional details of the B-Class apply equally to all B-Star-Line models.
Here are listed as examples the larger body door (35 millimetres wider, 9 millimetres
higher) and the new operating panel, which now also allows the capacity of the living
area battery to be measured.
For construction reasons, a wider garage door is not available for the B-Star-Line
models.
Also worth mentioning: in the sleeping area of the B-Star-Line 680, the rear bed was
widened by 10 centimetres to 1.50 metres.
Exclusive to Hymer for an integrated motorhome, driver and passenger airbags are
available as optional extras in the B-Star-Line models.
For the models 655, 680 and 700, a 150 litre refrigerator and for the 655 an oven with
side-hinged door in the tall cupboard are available at extra cost. The monitor of
the reversing camera system also provides colour pictures and the satellite antenna
Page 47
Caro digital or Caro digital CI provides images from orbit. The Oxycom fresh air cooling
system provides good air-conditioning
Three additional equipment packages are available in this range:
Comfort package 1, consisting of concertina darkening system, mosquito net door, fog
lights and pre-installation of radio.
Comfort package 2 (only for B-Star-Line 655, 680 and 700), consisting of 150 litre
refrigerator, concertina darkening system, mosquito net door, fog lights and pre-
installation of radio.
In addition, the “Arctic package“, which enhances the winter-proofing of the vehicle,
comprising an insulating mat for the footwell of the driver’s cabin, an insulating mat for
the windscreen (outside), additional heating Truma E 2400 and insulation glass for the
side windows of the driver’s cabin.
2.13 Hymermobil S-Class
For many years the luxury class of Hymer motorhomes has been a trendsetter in many
areas. For the first time, there are four models for the 2005 season.
The new addition is the S 830, with L-shaped seating group and longitudinal single
beds. It has the same body length as the S 820. The integration of the longitudinal
single beds was made possible by moving the functional area (kitchen, wardrobe and
washroom) 45 centimetres forwards and using an L-shaped seating group. In addition
to the comfort of the single beds, the integrated, lowerable flat screen provides
extraordinary luxury. The option of a closed or open washroom is also available for the
new model.
Otherwise this model range (S 650, S 740, S 820) with its luxurious appointments
remains unchanged. What is new for 2005, however, is the 150 litre refrigerator fitted
as standard (previously 135 litres). For the model year 2005, the S 740 will have an
additional garage door situated on the left in the direction of travel.
One very important detail is that Hymer is the first manufacturer of integrated
motorhomes to equip all S-Class vehicles as standard with driver and passenger
airbags as well as seatbelt pretensioner. Xenon light is also available at extra cost.
In addition to the patented PUAL technology, three independent heating systems
guarantee comfortable winter-proofing in this luxury motorhome class.
3.2 Eriba-Touring
The “archetypal” Troll, the Puck and the other models of the Touring range have cult
status among caravaning experts. They have been produced by Hymer in Bad
Waldsee since 1956. Just like a Volkswagen Beetle goes and goes and goes, an Eriba
Touring caravan, among the best-known and most successful caravans on the market,
goes on and on and on, reliably making its way through all European countries. The
almost 70,000 Touring owners are testimony to the incredible success of this caravan
range from Hymer, which has now been in existence for almost five decades. Owners
of caravans in the Touring range are most frequently well-educated two-person
households who enjoy travelling. In addition to this target group there is also an
increasing number of younger (35-40 years of age) families, mainly with small children.
The vehicles they have available for towing are smaller, which means they appreciate
the advantages of what is still a classic among carvans: manageable dimensions, low
weight and top-class handling.
15 models with 18 additional variants are offered by Hymer in the Touring range for the
2005 season.
New models include the Puck 230 GT with corner kitchen, the Troll 552 GT with dinette
and the options of a transversal bed or second dinette. The “Fifty’s” models Puck 120,
Triton 430 and the Troll 510 GT were discontinued.
A new feature for the 2005 season is the fact that the Triton 430 GT, Troll 530 GT,
Troll 550 GT, the new Troll 552 GT and the Troll 555 GT models now offer the option,
at no extra cost, of either a 1.40 metres seating arrangement or transversal bed in the
rear. With the transversal bed variant there is no side window on the left in the direction
of travel; its place is taken in this case by a comfortably-upholstered arched element
above the bed. The caravan still has this side window in the version with the rear
seating arrangement.
Page 52
It is still the case that the standard Puck, and also the Puck 120 GT, have an AL-KO
chassis with special axle giving an overall height of just 1.98 metres, which means that
these small caravans fit into any standard sized garage. In general, all Touring models
have a generous amount of storage space, with easily manageable dimensions, light,
integral, rotting-resistant construction based on tubular steel components, and top-
class handling.
All the Touring GT models have had a facelift in line with contemporary expectations.
The graphics at roof level have been revised and a new optimised design has been
developed for the drawbar cover. The cover for the gas bottle locker gleams in chequer
plate design and even the window frames have been given a new look. New lights are
offered for the rear and the all around red weather-strips add a splash of colour.
Inside, the Puck 120 has furnishing in Ligurian alder wood finish, and all Touring GT
models have furnishing in Ticino pear wood finish. All caravans with fixed beds are
now fitted with fashionable swan-neck bedside lamps. Another new feature for the rear
tables is the telescopic leg which has the benefit of easily making up for any
unevenness of the ground when used outdoors.
The washroom has also been redesigned with a cosy warmth radiating from the wood
décor used.
Optional extras for models with a front seating arrangement include an extra bed
suitable for small children. All models also have the option of an extra-high rising roof
opening by means of double stays (giving approx. 15 centimetres extra headroom).
From the Familia model upwards the spare wheel has a solid cover, and both are
mounted on the jumper bracket at the rear conveying a truly automotive design.
Page 53
Two additional equipment packages are available in this range:
Touring-Plus package 1, consisting of safety coupling AL-KO AKS 1300, mudflap and
exterior storage room door on the right.
3.3 Eriba-Living
As part of the Hymer 2005 product drive, the caravan sector has also been
substantially restructured. The most striking development is Eriba-Living, a completely
new range to replace the former Eriba-Swing.
The Eriba-Living is aimed specifically at young families and new prospective buyers
looking for a Hymer caravan which offers particularly good value for money. Bearing
these customer requirements in mind, Hymer has brought to life a completely new
range, equipped and fitted out accordingly.
For the 2005 season, the Eriba Living offers a total of twelve models with two
additional variants. Among them are particularly child-friendly models with bunk beds
or a special children’s area, as well as layouts with French bed or longitudinal single
beds. Quite exceptional are the three models with an overall width of 2.50 metres,
giving a welcome feeling of space.
Externally the side walls of the new Eriba-Living caravans gleam with their white-grey
textured metal. The body shell with its patented Hymer PUAL technology guarantees
all the advantages recognised by the market such as optimum stability and excellent
insulation values for winter use. The rear light moulding has been especially designed
for the Living range. The Jumper bracket at the rear allows for optimum handling. The
same applies to the drawbar, which has been extended and guarantees the best
possible handling. The gas bottle locker has generous space for storing two gas
bottles, a spare wheel, the wheel chocks and the crank for the steady jacks. The
opening and closing of the flap is assisted by a gas pressure spring.
The Living caravans are entered via an entrance door, practically designed to include a
wardrobe section (above) and storage shelf (below) on the inside. The furniture in
Ligurian alder wood finish is elegantly complemented by rounded elements in
aluminium-look, which are particularly attractive in the way they set off the overhead
Page 57
storage cupboards. The table and counter finishes harmonise tastefully with the overall
scheme. The PVC floor covering has the appearance of a parquet floor.
A new touch of elegance is provided by the swan-neck lamps which can be remotely
operated for ease of use. The practical new table underframe has no cross members
providing considerably more freedom of movement for the legs. Another comfort
feature is the 230 Volts hot air-heaters, and the loose back cushions of the L-shaped
seating group.
The generous kitchen has plenty of work space with a rounded three-burner cooker
and round sink. The refrigerator with rounded door has a 93 litre capacity.
New chrome finish fittings are used in both the kitchen and washroom where floor
cupboards in wood décor give a cosy warm feel to the interior. The washroom is also
fitted as standard with a pivoted window and with a stainless steel wash basin if at the
front.
Special options for the Eriba-Living range include a model with smooth plate exterior.
Optional extras for the kitchen include a SMEV grill (only for models 430, 435, 480 and
530), an oven (only for models 450, 465, 505, 520 and 525) and an extractor hood in
stainless steel look. The 560 model has the option of a 150 litre refrigerator or an oven
(without grill) with a side-hinged door for the tall cupboard. A particularly family-friendly
feature is the triple bunk bed available as an optional extra from November 2004 for all
models with rear bunk bed.
The Eriba-Living range also has attractive equipment packages:
The Eriba-Living Plus package 1, comprising the Hymer panoramic roof vent, 22 litre
waste water tank, extractor hood, Truma Therme water heater and an extending
shower head plus shower curtain.
Page 58
The Eriba-Living Plus package 2, comprising a Winterhoff coupling, spare wheel and
exterior storage room door.
The Eriba-Living Winter package 1, available from November 2004, which prepares the
caravan thoroughly for winter conditions, consists of underfloor heating, Ultraheat
electric heating, insulated and heatable traps, a winter cover for the front flap and a
winter cover for the refrigerator.
The Eriba-Living Winter package 2, available from November 2004, consists of
underfloor heating, Ultraheat electric heating, insulated and heatable traps, a winter
cover for the front flap and for the refrigerator, and a Truma Therme or boiler which can
be operated in winter separately from the main water circuit.
3.4 Eriba-Nova
In the new range of models for 2005, the Eriba-Nova range represents the premium
class of caravans offered by Hymer. Within this model range the Eriba-Moving heritage
lives on as an option for all Nova variants. In comparison with all Hymer leisure
vehicles – motorhomes and caravans – the Eriba-Nova range with 17 models and
three additional variants offers the widest choice of models in any range.
All layouts have been completely redesigned. There are versions with separate
children’s areas, longitudinal single beds, French beds in the front or rear and L-
shaped seating groups or dinettes in various positions.
An exclusive and absolutely unique model on the market is the Eriba-Nova 680
(tandem axle) with French bed in the front, U-shaped seating group in the centre and
bunk bed across the corner in the rear.
Externally, the Eriba-Nova exudes a much more elegant presence with its curving lines
and specially bonded body using the patented Hymer PUAL technology.
The extended drawbar also looks more elegant and assures optimum handling.
Caravans of this model range also have a gas bottle locker with generous additional
space for the storage of two gas bottles, a spare wheel, the wheel chocks and the
crank for the steady jacks. The opening and closing of the flap is assisted by a gas
pressure spring. The front flap hinge has a rail for inserting the winter mat; the base of
the gas bottle locker retains its attractive chequer plate look.
The top-quality aluminium grip handles at the front as well as the jumper bracket at the
rear, are practical and provide optimum ease of handling. Exclusively, and for the first
time, Hymer offers double weather-strips, designed for the dual purpose of holding the
awning fabric and fixing the support poles, thus preventing the need for any additional
fixing holes in the metal sides.
Page 72
On the models with front window, this has an elliptical bottom extension which, as well
as providing an attractive design feature, lets more light into the interior.
The caravan is entered via an entrance door, practically designed to include a
wardrobe section (above) and storage shelf (below) on the inside. The living area
furniture has Lugano pear wood finish – a favourite with the B-Class motorhome range
– and design features such as translucent glass in the area of the overhead storage
cupboards and the TV compartment. A special atmosphere is created by the
concealed lighting beneath the open overhead storage compartments in the living and
sleeping areas, and the attractive swan-neck lamps.
The overall furniture design has eye-catching curved lines, the bench seats are
functionally designed to allow for more leg room, and the upholstery is beautifully
made, with touches such as the edges of the cushions which elegantly overlap the
edges of the frames. The practical new table underframe has no cross members giving
considerably more freedom of movement for the legs. Another comfort feature is the
230 Volts hot air heaters (with the exception of the autonomous models with 12 volt fan
heaters), and neck bolsters for both French beds and single beds. The PVC floor
covering has the appearance of an attractive parquet floor.
The wardrobe (with the exception of the Eriba-Nova 470 and 570) is fitted with a metal
drawer and a new two-panel wardrobe door allowing more room for passing.
The generous kitchen has plenty of work space with a rounded three-burner cooker
and round sink. The refrigerator with curved door has a 93 litre capacity – and the high
version without curved door, in models 545, 555 and 680, has a capacity of 97 litres.
New chrome finish taps are used in both the kitchen and washroom. The upper corner
units, where in place, and floor cupboards in wood finish give a cosy warm feel to the
interior. The washroom is also fitted as standard with a pivoted window; a new feature.
All models with open washing facilities in the front or rear have a stainless steel wash
basin.
Page 73
A special optional extra is the SMEV grill, or for selected models, an oven. In addition
an extractor hood in stainless steel look and a 150 litre refrigerator are available for
models Eriba-Nova 545, 555 and 680, and a 12-volt special system in connection with
autonomy packages.
As an important innovation the Eriba-Moving package is available as optional extra for
all Nova models. If a Moving package is ordered, the caravan is given individual
Moving decals and badges – all the Nova logos are masked over and replaced by
Moving.
The Eriba-Moving package comprises spare wheel, extractor hood, SMEV grill, Hymer
panoramic roof vent, mosquito net side door, electrical autonomy package, extending
shower head plus shower curtain and a hot water boiler.
The Eriba-Nova Plus package comprises spare wheel, extractor hood, SMEV grill,
Hymer panoramic roof vent and mosquito net side door.
The Winter package for Eriba-Nova/-Moving, available from November 2004,
comprises underfloor heating, Ultraheat electric heating, insulated and heatable traps,
a winter cover for the front flap and for the refrigerator, and a Truma Therme water
heating system or boiler which can be operated in winter separately from the main
water circuit.
4. Hymer-Welt, the array of exclusive services for Hymer customers
For more than a decade, Hymer has been offering its customers a range of attractive
services unrivalled in the sector as part of the Hymer-Welt package. The Hymer-Welt
scheme began eleven years ago with the introduction of the HymerCard.
Developments followed in quick successive stages: just a year later, in 1994, the first
Hymer customer tour was held. In 1997 Hymer-assistance was introduced to the
market. The first HymerCard travel catalogue appeared in 1998, followed in 1999 by
the Hymer-europass. The HymerCard was expanded to include a Visa credit card in
2000. Hymer-finance and the HymerCard ferry service were added in 2001 to complete
the current range of Hymer-Welt services.
HymerCard magazine, personal, informative and free to your letterbox every
quarter
Since January 1994, in addition to the numerous other free benefits enjoyed by
HymerCard customers, they will also have the pleasure of the free HymerCard
magazine, sent every quarter to all 28,000 HymerCard holders. A quality production, it
contains interesting holiday and cultural tips, lively travel reports and attractive trips in
Germany and the rest of Europe. The magazine also gives exclusive comprehensive
background information on the latest products, services and trends from Hymer.
Page 92
HYMER-assistance offers insurance with Hymer quality
With the excellent high quality of motorhomes and caravans from Hymer, mobile
tourists know they can depend on their vehicles on their travels. Yet whatever the
situation, unforeseen circumstances can always arise, against which you can and
should always protect yourself with appropriate insurance.
In order to provide the best possible insurance on the road (and also at home) Hymer
has been offering Hymer-assistance since 1997, which gives tailor-made policies for
mobile leisure time. The fully-comprehensive insurance also covers customers against
risks such as accidents which are their fault, damage to their own vehicle and
malicious damage by third parties. The third party, fire and theft insurance provides
cover against theft or robbery, fire/explosion, glass breakage, storm damage, collisions
with wild animals (furred game), and even damage caused by marten bites. Since this
year an option has also been offered of reducing insurance premiums by increasing
the excess in the case of storm damage (damage from lightning, hail, storm and
floods) from 500 to 1,500 euros.
With a motorhome, caravan, awning and contents insurance which can be integrated in
the form of special conditions into the standard vehicle insurance, the Hymer-
assistance scheme offers an insurance product which is unique in the market place.
The contents insurance enables the insured to have covered all the personal effects in
the vehicle, including bicycles, up to an amount set individually (max. 10,000 euros). In
addition, Hymer-assistance offers tailor-made schemes for legal protection insurance,
for accident insurance and for buildings and contents insurance.
There is a new calculation table under www.hymer.com which can be used to work out
a premium quote and also make an on-line application, as required, directly to Hymer-
assistance.
Page 93
HymerCard Tours also extend to Corsica and the Baltic
The first independent branch-wide travel catalogue from Hymer, which has been in
existence since 1998, presents in its 52-page 2005 edition a total of 20 exclusive tours.
Because of the worldwide political situation and in line with customer’s requirements,
the majority of destinations it contains are in Europe. New destinations include Corsica,
the Baltic and southern England. South Africa is once again featured as the long-
distance destination.
On HymerCard exclusive tours, Hymer customers take their motorhomes or caravans
on tour and discover different cultures, people and places through travel. Well-informed
travel guides and perfect organisation ensure a smooth, trouble-free travel experience,
including to regions which many holidaymakers would not discover under their own
steam.
You can obtain a copy of the latest catalogue and information free from the following
service number: +49 (0) 7524 999-370 or by e-mail: hymercard@hymer.com.
HYMER-europass guarantees Europe-wide mobility
Since 1999 the Hymer-europass has been reassuring Hymer customers of trouble-free
journeys. The europass guarantees recovery service protection, which every owner of
a Hymer motorhome or Eriba caravan can claim for free for one year after first
registration. This recovery service applies to the basic vehicle, to the practical
elements of the body and structure and to the occupants. Our partner in the provision
of this service is ADAC.
In the case of a vehicle breakdown, europass employees, who can speak all major
European languages, are available around the clock to help Hymer customers who
require breakdown assistance. In addition around 28,000 breakdown assistance
agents throughout Europe are available to provide customers with roadside assistance
Page 94
on the spot. In addition to direct roadside assistance, the service package includes
sending replacement parts, sending medicines abroad, arranging hotel
accommodation or, if necessary, organising the return journey. If the customer’s own
vehicle is out of service, a hire vehicle can also be arranged.
The central europass emergency phone number (01802) 496373
(from abroad: +49 89 - 76 764242) is available every day of the year, 24 hours a day.
HymerCard VISA offers you freedom you can take with you anywhere
Since the year 2000 the HymerCard has been available as a fully functional credit
card. Hymer vehicle owners do not have to pay an annual fee, yet benefit from all the
applications usually associated with standard credit cards. Up to two additional cards
for other members of the family can also be applied for. Further advantages of the
HymerCard VISA are the variable repayment options and a maximum liability for loss
on the part of the customer of 50 euros. The HymerCard VISA also offers the option of
making cash-free payments via over 20 million operators in the VISA network and of
obtaining cash worldwide from over 800,000 VISA-approved cash machines. In
addition, the HymerCard VISA offers all the usual services of the HymerCard.
HYMER-finance gives you individual tailor-made loan quotations
Many people wish to own a motorhome or caravan. However, many of those who
make their initial enquiries require a tailor-made, reputable financing solution. Since
2001 Hymer customers have been assured a competent, fast and flexible service in
this area from Hymer-finance, a Service Center of the CC Bank. The processing of the
required loan or leasing scheme is carried out directly by Hymer Finance. Three
finance programmes, “Classic”, “Relax” and “Holiday” provide something to suit all
requirements and budgets. Customers do not need to visit a Hymer dealer to benefit
from these services; their ideal finance scheme can be explored in advance from the
Page 95
comfort of their own home using the finance reckoner to be found at www.hymer.com.
Further information is available from the Hymer-finance Service Center via the hotline
on + 49 (0) 1805 663310 or via e-mail at: finance@hymer.com.
Your journey over the water is also safe with the HymerCard Ferry Service
Hymer motorhome and Eriba caravan customers can feel safe and comfortable taking
their vehicles on the roads and indeed over any dry land. But what happens when the
motorhome or caravan owner leaves the shore behind to make a trip over the water?
Hymer offers a safe haven.
With the HymerCard Ferry Service, which has been available since 2001, customers
can make trouble-free bookings by phone of ferry crossings on the Mediterranean,
North Sea or Baltic. Around 75 European ferry routes can be booked, sometimes with
special terms and conditions for Hymer customers, with helpful and knowledgeable
support by the HymerCard Ferry Service partners, Reise-Service Kiel.
Experienced service employees can advise Hymer customers on the ferry route
options on the Service number +49 (0) 1802 496376 and also give information on the
popular “Camping on Deck” tariffs. The ticket for the tailor-made booking will arrive
promptly by post. Payment is made simply by using the HymerCard VISA, or an
invoice can be sent. Information is also available on the Internet at: www.hymer.com or
by e-mail: faehren@hymer.com.
Page 96
Hymer gets together with CampingCard ACSI to bring you holiday bargains
Hymer has got together with the Dutch company ACSI Publishing BV to offer
HymerCard holders the option of saving between 10 percent and 50 percent at
participating camp sites throughout Europe, during the early and off-peak seasons.
ACSI, who already work with Hymer in bringing customers the HymerCard Tours (in
2004 to Scotland), offer a CampingCard, which was mailed free of charge to all
HymerCard holders together with the February edition of the HymerCard magazine. In
addition to the CampingCard, there is the additional benefit of a free CampingCard
Guide.
The ACSI-Hymer cooperation system is extremely customer and service friendly.
Hymer customers simply produce their CampingCard on arrival at any of the 353
participating camp sites and pay 9, 11 or 13 euros per emplacement, thus saving
between 10 percent and 50 percent of the official price. The site owners offer equal (if
not better, depending on the time of year) hospitality and an unlimited range of
facilities, even in the low season.
The reduced CampingCard price includes a standard or luxury emplacement for two
adults, car with caravan or tent, or motorhome with awning. Moreover, the price
includes electricity and water, use of the showers and (where allowed) admittance of
pets.
The stay is even better value if – provided it is offered – customers take advantage of
the “7 = 6”, staying seven nights for the price of six. An especially customer-friendly
feature is the fact that you do not have to pay in advance, only on departure. Hymer
customers can therefore keep their options open, extending their stay if required or
leaving early if they have to. However, an essential principle of the CampingCard is
that the longer you stay, the better value your caravaning holiday will be.
5. Hymer-rent – in its fifth year of success
Hymer-rent is one of the most successful motorhome leasing organisations in Europe
and therefore makes a substantial contribution to the overall success of Hymer.
In 1999 Hymer opted for an in-house leasing organisation, and in 2000 Hymer-rent
was begun with 49 contract partners in four countries. In 2002 the leasing organisation
was represented by 65 contract partners in eight countries, and had already won itself
a leading position in the European leasing market. Now in its fifth season, Hymer-rent
is represented by 73 contract partners in 13 European countries.
In the last five years the “European ratio” between German and foreign agents has
changed significantly. While German leasing agents have shown an increase of two
during this period to a current 47 leasing agents, the volume abroad increased to a
total of 26 Hymer-rent offices.
Hymer-rent is currently represented beyond Germany in Denmark, Finland, Ireland,
Italy, Luxemburg, Norway, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovenia and Spain. Further
offices are programmed in Europe for 2005.
Continuous growth was enjoyed not only in terms of the number of agents and
countries – the range of vehicles offered under the leasing scheme has also been
expanded. In the beginning, in the year 2000, only five vehicle types were offered, from
the ranges at the time Hymer C-Class Swing, Hymer C-Class, Hymermobil B-Classic
and Hymermobil B-Class; this range has now been extended significantly. At present,
in 2004, 24 vehicle types are available from the ranges Hymer Exsis, Hymer C-Class,
Hymer C-Class GT, Hymer T-Class, Hymermobil B-Classic and Hymermobil B-Class.
This comprehensive range, which ultimately represents a fleet of more than
800 vehicles, is not only marketed by Hymer contract partners.
Page 98
The Hymer range is augmented by DERTOUR, Germany’s leading specialists in
individual holidays, and a specially-developed Hymer-rent on-line booking system on
the Internet.
Since 1 April 2004 Hymer-rent has been working together with DERTOUR and as a
result is represented in Germany and Austria by over 11,000 DERTOUR sales
representatives at travel agencies.
In its early stages, the cooperation with DERTOUR Feriencamper is being run via six
Hymer-rent offices in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Mülheim (Düsseldorf), Munich and
Sindelfingen (Stuttgart). At these offices DERTOUR uses exclusively Hymer vehicles.
These include the manoeuvrable Hymer Exsis model, providing family-friendly alcove
motorhomes and vehicles from the luxuriously fitted-out range of the integrated
Hypermobil B-Class.
These motorhome packages can only be booked via DERTOUR travel agents. The
hire prices and conditions correspond to the original Hymer-rent leasing conditions.
In addition, on-line booking is proving very successful. During 2004, the monthly visit
count for Hymer-rent amounted to 8,000 enquiries, with over 250,000 page hits; in
March this was as many as 9,000 visitors, with over 300,000 page hits.
These amazing developments and the relevant key data clearly show the position
Hymer-rent enjoys in the leasing market, and the interest generated by these contacts
in Hymer products.
Visitors to the Hymer-rent website can also obtain information on the vehicle fleet and
prices, on the individual offices, on the Hymer-rent service in connection with the
HymerCard (travel offers, ferry service, recovery service, etc.), on Hymer-rent agents
abroad (Moturis in North America, KEA in New Zealand) and also order or download
brochures.
Page 99
The current range covered by the hire fleet, with seven vehicle categories, from the
Hymer Exsis, through the alcove vehicle with the emphasis firmly on the family, to the
luxuriously-designed integrated motorhome, offers customers a wide choice. The hire
vehicles are all covered by fully comprehensive insurance, are no more than two years
old, are perfectly maintained, have power-assisted steering, ABS and no limits to the
mileage travelled when under hire. All Hymer-rent vehicles are fully fitted out with the
range of equipment standard for the range and also have a radio cassette or CD player,
depending on the model, and a bicycle transport rack and awning.
The hire costs vary according to season and vehicle type, and are often lower than
expected. The best value price for a four-person vehicle in the early season is 59 euros
per day and the most expensive seven-metre motorhome for six persons in high
season is 135 euros per day. Apart from the one-off fixed-sum service fee of 115 euros
for the exterior cleaning of the vehicle, the provision of one fill of camping gas and
intensive instruction on handling the vehicle, a fully-equipped, modern Hymer
motorhome in the most reasonable price range costs from 14.75 euros per person per
day, rising to 22.50 euros per person per day in high season.
With such a choice of vehicles and great value prices, caravaning holidays are for many
people – including an increasing number of new customers – not only attractive but also
easily affordable.
This fact, plus the statistical facts and figures stated above, support and justify the
Hymer new model campaign introduced for the 2005 new season.
