NEEDED!
This year the VBS Craft
Room is in need of clear
stretchable cording, yellow,
black & white spray paint,
small terra cotta pots, and
green fun foam. If you
would like to donate any of these items for our
crafts this year, please bring them to the school or
the rectory and mark the bag “VBS”. Our children
thank you in advance! We are also in need of
Glass Beads! All shapes and sizes!
CCD VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Have you ever thought about becoming involved in
the Religious Education Program? There are many
opportunities to help out in this very important ministry
of our church. We are always in need of front desk
help during our CCD classes. This involves making
copies, collecting attendance binders, and answering
the phone. We are also looking for Classroom Aides.
If you feel this is for you, contact Elaine Garfold at 412
-461-6906, Ext. 23 to set up an interview, obtain clearances
and learn more about our program.
SAFE ENVIRONMENT TIP OF THE WEEK
From time to time it is good to reexamine the warning
signs that indicate someone is a potential risk to children.
In order to be alert to these signs all the time, a
careful review of these behaviors is important.
The warning signs are:
*Always wants to be alone with children.
*Would rather be with children than adults.
*Discourages other adults from participating
or monitoring.
*Goes overboard touching
*Thinks the rules do not apply to them.
These basic warning signs are not the only risky behaviors
that potential predators exhibit but they are
among those that predators tell us are part of the process.
Paying attention to these behaviors and interrupting
them anytime they are present can make a
real difference in the health and well being of children
in our environments.

MONTHLY GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP
The Monthly Grief Support Group will meet next
Wednesday, July 18th from 7:00 p.m.—9:00 p.m. in
the Rectory. The topic this month is “The Uniqueness
of Grief, Part 1”. This session explores how the
causes of, and personal responses to a loved one’s
death affect one’s grief. Topics addressed include
suicide, long-term illness, murder and false guilt. This
group is open-ended and you are welcome to join us if
you are grieving the loss of a loved one. For information,

The Diocese of Pittsburgh is once again planning
its annual Golden Wedding Celebration for the
couples who are celebrating their 50th wedding
anniversary. This year’s celebration will begin
with mass at St. Paul Cathedral on Sunday, October
21, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. (note time change).
Bishop Zubik will be the celebrant. A reception
will follow in the lower hall of the Cathedral.
If you are one of the couples celebrating your
50th anniversary in 2012, and would like to receive
an invitation to this event, please call the
rectory or drop a note in the collection basket no
later than August 5, 2012.
July 15th is the Anniversary of the
Death of
Father Michael Carmody
who entered God’s Glory in 1973.
Father Carmody was pastor of
Holy Angels Parish from
1957 to 1964.
Please remember Father Carmody in
your prayers.

In today’s Gospel the people ask: “How is it such miraculous
deeds are accomplished by His hands?”
Your call to help the Society of St. Vincent de Paul
serve the poor can bring about many “Miraculous
