Who we are.
History.
USA LLC
PINTSCH BUBENZER
is the result of a strategic realignment of the drive technology corporate area of PINTSCH BAMAG Antriebs- und Verkehrstechnik GmbH,
Dinslaken. In July, 2007 the subsidiary of Schaltbau Holding AG, Munich acquired the firm of BUBENZER BREMSEN – with its headquarters
in the town of Kirchen-Wehbach in the Siegerland area of Germany – together with its subsidiaries in the USA and Malaysia.
PINTSCH BAMAG and BUBENZER BREMSEN define themselves as innovators as well as manufacturers with the highest quality standards.
This self-assurance is based on a long and successful tradition which started with BUBENZER BREMSEN in 1958 and which with PINTSCH
BAMAG can be traced back to 1843 or, respectively, 1870.
The merger of successful brake manufacturers PINTSCH BAMAG and BUBENZER BREMSEN into PINTSCH BUBENZER GmbH has resulted
in a full-line, high quality braking systems supplier which is well-positioned to service the container handling, shipbuilding, offshore, mining,
steel and wind industries world-wide. The production facilities complement each other, and are supported by synergies in research and
development capabilities. Additional synergies in the areas of installation, sales and service will help to strengthen PINTSCH BUBENZER's
competitive position.
In 1999, BUBENZER BREMSEN America LLC was established as the first satellite of BUBENZER BREMSEN. It was founded with a two sales
offices approach: one on the East coast, the other on the West coast. An extensive representative network was established, and two spare
part distributors were appointed.
In response to increased business and rapid market changes, BUBENZER BREMSEN America LLC had decided to expand the main office and
warehouse in Flemington, NJ to better do serve customers with faster professional technical support ”Made in the USA“.
In 2008, the name was changed into PINTSCH BUBENZER USA LLC due to the shareholder change of the German based headquarters.
As of today, the PINTSCH BUBENZER USA LLC team offers repair, training and field services in addition to spare parts and braking system
sales.

Spring-set brake type KFB
4
The electromagnetic spring
applied brake KFB is a safety
brake primarily used on longtravel
crane applications as
well as motor-mounted service
brakes on industrial lifting
equipment.
The KFB offers several featu -
res like internal heaters, hand
lever, a compact design in rela
tion to the brake torque
range as well as maximum
service life and less maintenance.
50- 1600Nm (36- 1180
lb ft), protection class IP 67.
Flexible Coupling type K
The elastic coupling type K
with brake disc is a torsionally
elastic and punctureproof
claw coupling allowing
not only good misalignment
compensation but also torque
transmission which reduces
shock and torsional vibrations.
The design of these couplings
makes them particularly
suitable in machinery
subjected to high dynamic
stress. Damping of peak
torques and vibrations as
well as electrical instulation between motor and gearbox are further
reasons for the use of this coupling type. The standard material of the
elastic intermediate ring (Vk60D, polyurethane) is suitable for a temperature
range of -30 C - +60 C = -22F - +140 F.
Disc brakes type SB
This reliable range of electrohydraulic
disc brakes offers
more than a brake-on/brakeoff
function. Lining wear is
compensated automatically
and the brake levers center
without manual adjustment
with reference to the brake
disc (int. patent). Suitable for
any climate. MBr. in Nm: 120
- 40,000 Nm. Various control
limit switches are available
as well as different types of
monitoring systems (e.g. VSR
or CMB). Example for application:
Heavy duty high-speed main hoist service brakes for Container
Handling Cranes (120NM-40,000 Nm = 89 lb ft - 29,520 lb ft).
Spring-set brake type SFB
Our most renowned electromagnetic
spring applied
brake series SFB is the first
selection for almost every
known offshore application.
The SFB works well in areas
of temperature variation, sea
water, offshore as well as
crane and hoisting applications
on dry land. Highest
quality standards ensure a
long durability, easy and less
maintenance as well as
precise control of small to
very large amounts of kinetic
energy. The SFB is tested and certified by all relevant classification
societies like- Germanischer Lloyd, Lloyd s Register of Shipping, Det
Norske Veritas, Bureau Veritas, American Bureau of Shipping, and
Maritime Register of Shipping (GUS). The SFB has been used successfully
as service and holding brakes and principally as security brake.
Mbr 63 - 13000 Nm (46 - 9500 lb ft)-Protection class IP67.
Brake Pads
In order to ensure a fast and
reliable after-sales service for
our customers, we keep a
large stock of brake linings
for all sizes of Pintsch Bubenzer
brakes.
Delivery time for linings is
thereby kept to a minimum.
Furthermore, we run a special
spare part program for the
spring-set brake type KFB in
our stock.
We also consider it as a
service to our customers to
offer the possiblity of a spare part purchase on credit card.
M.A.T. Malmedie - couplings
Originally founded in 1873 as
a machinery factory, in 1981
Malmedie began focusing
and specializing exclusively
on drive technology products.
For more than 65 years,
Malmedie has been designing,
developing, producing
and distributing mechanical
couplings worldwide for all
industrial applications. In 1994
the newly-constructed factory
in Solingen replaced the
former headquarters in Dusseldorf.
Currently there are
approximately 50 employees in production, sales and administration.
The Malmedie MSC safety coupling is the heart of the first non-hydraulic
snag load protection system for container cranes called "SOS", a joint venture
with Pintsch Bubenzer. By reacting more quickly to snag events, the
MSC separates and removes the main hoist motor inertia from the drive
in 5 milliseconds. This permits complete stopping of the main hoist drums
in 100 milliseconds after a snag event by special Pintsch Bubenzer brakes,
thereby avoiding crane or spreader damage.
Let us give you a complete presentation on the SOS system for both new
and retrofit applications. PBUSA is the exclusive agent for Malmedie in
North America.
