QB Mark Sanchez was one of five players chosen as team captains<br />

MEET THE OFFENSIVE LINE<br />
In 2010, the New York Jets rushing attack finished fourth in the <strong>NFL</strong>,<br />
averaging 4.4 yards per an attempt and 148.4 yards a game. In 2009,<br />
the club finished the season leading the <strong>NFL</strong> in rushing, averaging<br />
4.5 yards a carry and 172.3 yards a game. In six postseason games<br />
during the last two seasons, the line has allowed the Jets to average<br />
130.8 yards rushing a game. It is the most by any team that has<br />
played more than two postseason games during the span.<br />
Lt D’Brickashaw Ferguson, selected 4th overall in the 2006 <strong>NFL</strong><br />
Draft, earned his 2nd Pro Bowl appearance in 2010. Named to<br />
the all-Rookie team by Pro Football Weekly and the Pro Football<br />
Writers’ association in ‘06.<br />
LG Matt Slauson, originally selected in the sixth round of the 2009<br />
<strong>NFL</strong> Draft. He earned a starting position this summer on a unit<br />

RG Brandon Moore has helped pave the way for two of the Jets<br />

ranks third-best in team history. In those seasons, he blocked for<br />
two rushing champions: Curtis martin (1,697, 2004 <strong>NFL</strong> rushing<br />
title) and thomas Jones (1,312, 2008 aFC rushing title). originally<br />
joined the Jets as an undrafted Fa defensive tackle in 2002.<br />
moved to guard during the 2003 offseason and earned the starting<br />

Rt Wayne Hunter made his first start at tackle in place of an injured<br />
Damien Woody at PIt (12/19). He went on to make starts<br />
at CHI (1/26) and vs. BUF (1/2) prior to Woody’s return in the<br />
club’s Wild Card game at IND (1/8). after Woody suffered an<br />
injury in the Wild Card game, Hunter started the Jets final two<br />
postseason games. a former third-round selection in the 2003<br />

In 2006, Jets General Manager Mike Tannenbaum focused on the<br />
offensive line selecting LT D’Brickashaw Ferguson fourth overall<br />
and C Nick Mangold 29th overall in the <strong>NFL</strong> draft. the two players<br />
have started 80 consecutive regular season games together, making<br />
them the only two players who entered the league together to start<br />
their team’s first 75 regular-season games on the same offensive line<br />
since 1970. Ferguson has earned 2010 Pro Football Weekly’s midseason<br />
all-Pro team honors, 2009 and 2010 Pro Bowl honors and<br />
2006 all-Rookie team honors by Pro Football Weekly and the Pro<br />

Dustin Keller has quietly had the best first three seasons by a tight<br />
end in club history. Despite working with two quarterbacks in his<br />
three seasons (Brett Favre ‘08 & mark sanchez ‘09-‘10), Keller has<br />
caught 148 passes for 1,744 yards, the most by a Jets tight end in<br />
their first three <strong>NFL</strong> seasons.<br />

TONE TIME<br />
Living up to his reputation of making key plays at big moments, WR<br />
Santonio Holmes caught his second game-winning touchdown pass<br />
in as many weeks from QB Mark Sanchez vs. Hst (11/21). the<br />
score, with 10 seconds remaining, gave the club a 30-27 victory. He<br />
finished the game with his second 100-yard receiving game (7-126-<br />
2) in three weeks. His first came at Det (11/7), when he caught five<br />
passes for 114 yards.<br />
one week earlier at CLV (11/14), Holmes caught a sanchez throw<br />
and raced 37 yards for the game-winning touchdown, his first score<br />
as a Jet, with 16 seconds remaining in overtime. It was the fourth<br />
game this season that Holmes made the key play that led to a game<br />
winning score. Week Nine at Det (11/17), Holmes took a pass 52<br />
yards to setup K Nick Folk’s game-winning 30-yard field goal. at<br />
DeN (10/17), he drew a 46-yard pass interference penalty to setup<br />
RB LaDainian Tomlinson’s game-winning touchdown.<br />
For the season, Holmes totaled 52 receptions for 746 yards (14.3<br />
avg.) and six touchdowns.<br />

mason, who signed with New York on august 7, has been one of<br />

In 2010, Harris was voted team mVP after he led the Jets defense<br />
with 119 tackles (90 solo). He added three sacks, two passes defensed,<br />

In three seasons, Harris has led the team in tackles twice and finished<br />
second with 87 tackles in 2008 despite missing five games. In 2007,<br />
he led the team with 117 tackles despite not taking over starting duties<br />

SACKS BY PACE<br />
LB Calvin Pace finished the 2010 season just 0.5 sacks behind Jets’<br />
sack leader LB Bryan thomas with 5.5 despite missing the first four<br />
games due to injury. For the season, he finished with 55 tackles. It is<br />
the second-consecutive season that he has missed the first four games<br />
of the schedule. Pace led the Jets in sacks in both 2008 (7) and 2009<br />
(8). In the last game of the season vs. BUF (1/2), Pace recorded his<br />
second interception along with a sack, three PD, three QHs and a<br />
tackle.<br />
Pace continued his sack production in the postseason, taking down<br />
Peyton manning in the Wild Card game (1/8 at IND), dropping tom<br />
Brady in the Divisional game (1/16 at Ne) and capping the postseason<br />
with a seven-yard sack of Ben Roethlisberger (1/23 at PIt).<br />
For his career, Pace has recorded 34.5 sacks, 20.5 since joining the<br />
Jets in 2008. He has also recorded 14 forced fumbles, nine since<br />
joining the club.<br />
SMITH BLOCKS IT<br />
Eric Smith has be<strong>com</strong>e an invaluable member of mike Westhoff’s<br />
special teams unit, ranking second on the team with 15 special teams<br />
tackles. eric smith is called upon for a big play from time-to-time.<br />
For the second time in two seasons, eric smith blocked a punt attempt<br />
when he got to Brandon Fields in the third quarter at mIa<br />
(9/26/10), allowing the Jets to take over possesion at the miami 17yard<br />
line.<br />
smith’s first blocked punt came last season when he blocked a Chris<br />
Hanson punt that Brad smith scooped up for a four-yard touchdown<br />
at Ne (11/22/09). smith also blocked a matt Dodge punt in the preseason<br />
