Welcome from the HeadteacherRichard RuddEdenham High has established a reputation for providing acaring supportive environment in which children of all abilitiescan flourish. Staff are committed and caring and work withparents to achieve increasingly good standards of learning andbehaviour. An excellent curriculum is in place with a widerange of personalised options. The majority of year 10 and 11follow a traditional academic pathway, with options for extensionsboth in school and outside. A significant minority of studentschoose from a wide range of vocational courses both inschool and in college for part of their timetable. This very widerange of choices means that students leave Edenham wellequipped to benefit from further study at Advanced and degreelevel, or for vocational study in a school or a college or tocompete successfully for an excellent job.The school has received a whole host of national accolades in recent years demonstratingthe wide range of learning experiences available to students. The school wasthe first in the authority to become a specialist school and has recently been the first inthe authority to receive the national ICT kitemark. We hold the Healthy Schools Award,the Intermediate International Award and the national financial kitemark. We are anaccredited Young Enterprise centre. Sport is a particular strength within the schoolwith hundreds of young people participating in out of hours activities on a regular basis.Our students are particularly well supported on transition into the school and areencouraged and trained to become increasingly active members of the school and thelocal community. STUDENTSUPPORTStudent support encompasses a wide range of guidance that is available at the school to help themachieve their potential. Form Tutors are always the first point of contact for students and parents butstudents will also be familiar with other members of the team including Heads of Year, SENCO and KeyStage Leaders. The Student Welfare Office is also staffed throughout the school day to assist studentswith any issues that arise.
