An innate passion for machinery and
plant construction has dominated the history
of the Henkel family for generations.
The founders of the EPC Group are proudly
looking back to more than 120 years of
engineering tradition. As shown by old
documents, the Henkel family machinery
was awarded prizes at a number of exhibitions
back as early as 1894.
Almost a century later, the EPC Group
has been founded: as EPC Engineering
Consulting GmbH in Rudolstadt. Finally,
after the reunion of Germany, the success
story was continued from its roots. By
founding other companies, EPC Group
steadily expanded its business portfolio.

The new generation of the Henkel family

of existing polymer plants are proof

Different colour nuances or matting grades
can be adjusted individually, e.g. for PET
or PBT filament yarns per spin position,
like POY or FDY special yarns (NC, HC or
Micro).

Polycarbonate production
plants
Polycarbonate offers some excellent features,
such as high stability and extreme
rigidity and is resistant to a great extent
against weather conditions and radiation.
It is transparent and colourless. However,
it can be coloured any shade. EPC offers
the technology for polycarbonate chips
production, but also in combination with
the turnkey services for the required industrial
plant.

PAN / Carbon fiber
production
EPC develops complete and and ultramodern
polymerization lines for PAN as
raw material for precursor and turnkey
carbon fiber plants. Apart from the plant
design and the equipment supply for PAN
polymerization plants, EPC Group offers
also the complete engineering package
including infrastructure, side systems and
construction planning.
Nowadays, PAN / carbon fiber is used
increasingly in aviation, space travel, automotive
industry and Formula 1, because of
its impressive stability and low weight.

The ideas of our customers are multifaceted.
Our possibilities, too. For instance,
they are applied in continuous heterogeneous
catalytic hydrogenation for single and
multi-phase plants, hydrogenation in batchoperation,
reaction technology, especially
homogeneous catalysis and gas / liquid
reactions.
Our experts are also dedicated to the technical
challenge of high pressure / low temperature
washing of synthesis gas, distillative
pre-separation and hydrogenation, e.g.
of fatty acid methyl esters as well as the
distillative post-separation of fatty alcohols,
which are formed during hydrogenation.

of pharmaceutical agent development

layout as well as in the integration of automation

Biodiesel plants
Natural added value. Integrated plants
provide efficiency and sustainability. Starting
from the oil fruit as a raw material for biodiesel
up to the production of glycerine in
pharmaceutical quality. In their planning
work, our engineers are also focussed on
optimised side processes. They guarantee
the profitability of the plant.
Bioethanol plants
Set a good example. The environmental
compatibility of the EPC Group concept
is reflected in the variety of its bioethanol
plants. All fermentation residues are
recycled so that there is virtually no waste
water to be discharged from the process.
Besides this, the energy consumption of
the process used by us is very low - thanks
to ultra-modern distillation and rectification
concepts.

Deeper processing of grain
The deeper processing of grain includes
the production of modified flour, native/
modified starch and glucose/ maltose
syrup. The by-product that are generated
during the main production process, are
used as high-quality, nutritious animal food.
In the grain refinement plants of EPC the
raw material is cleaned and automatically
separated into its single components
so that it can be further processed in the
downstream process steps, as required. All
processes are focused on precision, so that
not even the smallest raw material component
is lost. Because of those sophisticated
technologies and effective plant concepts
our customers are able to produce exquisite
and high-quality grain products at globally
competitive prices.
Oil mills
Vegetable oils are an important factor
in a healthy living. The kind of pressing
process decides about the conservation of
the ingredients. Our clients are experts in
this field and provide our engineers with
the vital impulses. This results in an innovative
production of vegetable oil. The specific
pressing or extraction process always
depends on the size of the plant.
Fruit processing plants
Ingredient-conserving processing. Highest
flavour quality. Low energy consumption.

effectiveness of the fruit processing can
