Bergvik Seismic Frames are designed with a ”Power Arc” to harnessthe tremendous forces of an major earthquake. Bergvik's seismicframe for power and telecom cabinets, etc., in zones 3–4 is thesafest construction on the market. The Bergvik Seismic Frame is successfully used by leading telecomoperators around the world.NEBS seismic zone 0Areas with no or low seismic activity. Seriousearthquakes are very unusual.NEBS seismic zone 1–2Areas with higher risk for personal injuries and networkfailure. Shakes and earthquakes measuring5-7 on the Richter scale can occur.NEBS seismic zone 3–4Seismic areas with very high risk for personalinjuries and network failure. Shakes and earth -quakes measuring up to 9 on the Richter scalecan occur.Secure any OEM equipment – quick deliveryand fast serviceThe Bergvik raised floor product package also offers secure solutions forany OEM equipment installed in the central office. Bergvik will provide adesign proposal within three weeks following receipt of equipment drawings. After the order is approved, we can ship the custom seismic frameswithin four to five weeks.Proven mechanical strengthBergvik has developed and adapted a series of three different raised floordesigns to accommodate all seismic zones. To further verify all structuralcalculations, we submit the floor and bracing structures to dynamic fullscalelaboratory tests in accordance with NEBS GR-63 (IEC 68-2-57)and NEBS GR-2930.Color chart shows geographical areas divided into seismic activity zones

NEBS ZONE 0minimum risk of seismic activityRaised floors for areaswith minimum risk of seismic activityThe base model of Bergvik's raised flooring is built from a stableframework of zinc-plated pre-fabricated steel that is bolted together, withoutwelding, for optimal flexibility. This floor system meets the requirementsfor non-seismic zones. The 800 mm panel depth allows for optimizedcabinets to line up back-to-back and be securelymounted on top of the floor.Pre-cut panels for cable intake, stepless brackets, and cable ladders arestandard options that expedite installation in the central office. Bergvikrecognizes that time is money.4

Cabinets are tip-protected directly to the raised floorstructure. Unlike other types of raised floors, threadedrods anchored to the concrete sub floor are not needed.System Specifications• Floor heights 350 to 610 mm• Lx & Ly = 1200 mm at 7.4 kN/m 2• Lz = 800 mm for easy panel access• Deflection L/300 at point load 5 kNStandard pedestalPrimary steel sectionSecondary steel sectionLz••Ly•Lx5

NEBS ZONE 1–2higher risk of seismic activityRaised floors for areaswith higher risk of seismic activityBergvik's floor design for NEBS Zone 1–2 offers the same stableconstruction as our base model but with additional reinforcementsto accommodate a higher risk of seismic activity. Strengthened with a60x60 mm pedestal anchored to the sub-floor with steel plateconnections between primary and secondary steel sections, this modelfulfills the requirements for seismic reliability according to NEBS. Thefloor has passed both calculated stress as well as dynamic full-scale testsin accordance with NEBS GR-63 (IEC 68-2-57) and NEBS GR-2930from Bergvik.6

NEBS ZONE 3–4maximum risk of severe seismic activityRaised floors with integrated bracing frames for areaswith maximum risk of severe seismic activityThe Bergvik raised floor designed for NEBS Zone 3-4 is the most secure producton the market today. The addition of solid bracing frames anchored to the concretesub-floor provides the strength and stability to withstand severe seismic activity. This Bergvik raised floor system fulfills all the requirements for seismic reliabilityaccording to NEBS. The frames have passed both calculated stressas well as dynamic full-scale tests in accordance with NEBS GR-63 (IEC 68-2-57)and NEBS GR-2930.8
