A PRAYER FOR THEPERSECUTED CHURCHLoving Father, thank you for your church, which is the body of Christ.You have told us that if one part suffers, every part suffers with it. So we bringyou our prayers for our brothers and sisters in the persecuted church.For those who are hard pressed on every side, let them not be crushed;for those who are perplexed, let them not despair;for all who are persecuted, may they know they are not forsaken.May they bear fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.Out of your glorious riches strengthen them with power through your Spirit,so that Christ may dwell in their hearts through faith and they may have greatendurance and patience.May they grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ thatsurpasses knowledge, and be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine,according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the churchand in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!Amen.This prayer is drawn from the Apostle Paul’s prayers for churches facing persecutionin the first century (2 Corinthians 4; Colossians 1; Ephesians 3).www.opendoorsuk.org

A PRAYER FOR PERSECUTEDBELIEVERS IN NORTH KOREAAlmighty God, ruler of nations,We bring before you the people of North Korea.You are the God who provides: give food to those who are hungry.You are the God who rescues: bring freedom to the captives.You are the Father to the fatherless: protect those who are vulnerable.We remember especially those who are paying a high price for following Jesus.Give strength to those who are in prison;may they know your grace sustaining them.Give courage to those who continue to meet to worship you despite the dangers;may they find hope in your Word.Living Lord, we pray that your kingdom would come in North Korea.Let its citizens be governed with justice:may your people worship you in freedom.We ask this for the glory of your name,Amen.This prayer is offered to help you and your church pray for persecuted believers in NorthKorea.
