Makinga stir

It’s not all about the moneyA survivor of torture’s sense of self worth is often destroyed to the extent that theyare surprised and amazed to hear that people support them and want the best forthem. Hosting a Homemade event can show survivors that there are people in theUK who welcome them, who care for them, who want them to continue in theirrehabilitation so that they can begin to move on from the most horrific of abuses.Supporting them by hosting a Homemade event makes such a difference toempowering them on the journey to recovery. You can also help spread the word about our important work to your family andfriends. Here are some points below:• Freedom from Torture has centres across the UK in London, Birmingham, Manchester,Newcastle and Scotland, as well as a presence in Yorkshire and Humberside.• Freedom from Torture has been providing specialist care to survivors of torture andorganised violence for over 25 years. They help survivors to rebuild their lives throughpsychological and physical therapies; medical opinion and practical help, and use theirevidence and knowledge of the true consequences of torture to speak out against it.
