Moving To ActionAdult Project TeamsHealth and RecreationThis team facilitated a partnership with the Reducing Obesity Coalitionand Memorial HealthWorks to help promote both organizations andbring their message of the benefits of healthy eating and exerciseto Lincoln Primary School. In addition, the team is in the process ofhelping write a $50,000 grant request to fund the CATCH program for19 area schools to receive fitness equipment.Green MovementThe focus was to support energy savings through reduced heatabsorption. The team installed a Green Roof on the PotawatomiZoo Otter Exhibit House. The team was also involved in the IdleReduction Pilot Program and will continue to work with the city toinstall battery packs in city vehicles.Children and Family– Girls on the RunThis team partnered with Girls on the Run whose goal is to preparegirls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. This involves a12 week training program for a 5k non-competitive race for 3rd – 8thgraders. The project team focused on marketing and development.They created and distributed a press release and updated donorpackets. They also organized the Derby-Dash fundraiser.River Group I – Live the BendThe team developed a community pride campaign titled Live theBend. The campaign includes local events, media coverage and awebsite to spread a goodwill message about our community and allthe things to do “in and around the bend”.River Group II – EcoFestThis team partnered with DTSB to promote the EcoFest.Promotional events created by the team include: a Poster ArtCompetition for children grades 3-8, Recycled Art Competition andRiver Boat Tour.
