Moving To ActionYouth Project TeamsNeighborhoods: This Project Team partnered with the NearNorthwest Neighborhood to conduct a Chili Supper Fundraising Event. <strong>The</strong>team was involved in various tasks to assist with the dinner. $150 wasraised for the neighborhood organization.Safety: <strong>The</strong> team organized a bowling party and raised $120 infunds to support the Youth Services Bureau Safe Place program forteenage runaways. In choosing a project the team conducted researchon “teen issues” that are detrimental to the well being <strong>of</strong> youth.Unity: This team partnered with WNIT to create a PSA that addressescommunity unity and pride. This two commercial campaign will air in June.Green Initiative: <strong>The</strong> Green Team chose Temple Park, aneighborhood park in Mishawaka, to focus their energy. Tasks includedpainting, raking, planting and clearing <strong>of</strong> trash and debris.Teen Involvement: This team focused their energy onbook drives to provide books to <strong>St</strong>. Margaret’s House, Center for theHomeless and Robinson Community Center. 823 books were collectedwith an estimated value <strong>of</strong> $1,600 to benefit over 500 children.Community Appreciation: This project team conducted aclean-up <strong>of</strong> Rum Village Park. In addition to the clean-up, the group createda brochure, “South Bend a Thriving City”, which contains information aboutarea entertainment, culture and history.
