When the DEF tank level (SPN 1761) drops below 5% the indicator(SPN 5245) will begin to blink between yellow and white indicatorsat a 1Hz rate. When the DEF tank level is below 3% the level bar willbe empty but will have at least 2.5% usable volume still in the tankfor the SCR inducement to begin. The High Exhaust System Temperature (HEST) indicator is located inthe lower left portion of the screen. It responds to the J1939 messagefrom the engine (SPN 3698). When active the indicator will besolid yellow in color. The regeneration inhibit indicator and switch are located in the lowermiddle portion of the screen. The indicator is tied to the J1939message from the engine (SPN 3703). When active the indicator willbe solid yellow in color. The regeneration indicator and initiate switch are located in thelower right of the screen. The indicator is tied to the J1939 messagefrom the engine (SPN 3697). When active the indicator will be solidyellow in color indicating regeneration is needed at the lowest levelof urgency and operator intervention is required. When the indicatorflashes between yellow and white at a rate of 1 Hz it signalsto the operator that a more severe condition is present requiringregeneration. When the engine protection system detects a serious fault conditionit will signal the GUI that a shutdown is approaching (SPN1109). The GUI will replace the fuel level with a message warningthe operator that they have 30 seconds to override the shutdown. The timer will begin to countdown and will only reset if thetop region surrounding both gauges is momentarily pressed or theengine clears the fault. When the region is pressed a message is broadcast to the engineusing a J1939 message (PGN 65265 byte 8) indicating that theoperator has overridden the automatic shutdown and delaying theengine shutdown for another 30 seconds. Care should be taken thatthe override is not used excessively as damage to the engine mayoccur if it is not allowed to enter into a shutdown state. The operatorshould seek a safe location and allow the shutdown to occur toprevent any severe damage to the engine..
