Joseph was tempted to the utmost, but he endured and would not sin.Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted bythe devil. Then Jesus said to him, "Begone, Satan! For it is written,'You shall worship the Lord your God,and serve Him only.' " Then thedevil left Him. (Matthew 4:1-11).Joseph was tempted to the utmost and endured. The Messiah, theson of Joseph, was tempted to the utmost, but He endured.Falsely accusedWhen she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and had fledoutside, she called to the men of her household, and said to them,"See, he has brought in a Hebrew to make sport of us; he came in tome to lie with me, and I screamed.And it came about when he heard that I raised my voice andscreamed, that he left his garment beside me and fled, and wentoutside" (Genesis 39:13-15).Joseph was falsely accused.Now, the chief priests and the whole Council kept trying to obtainfalse testimony against Jesus, in order that they might put Him todeath; and they did not find any, even though many false witnessescame forward.But later on two came forward and said, "This man stated, 'I am ableto destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.' "And the high priest stood up and said to Him, "Do You make noanswer? What is this that these men are testifying against You?"But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest said to Him, "I adjure you bythe living God, that You tell us whether You are the Messiah, the Sonof God." Jesus said, "You have said it yourself; nevertheless I tellyou, hereafter you shall see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand ofPower, and coming on the clouds of heaven."
