<strong>Laredo</strong> Outlook• <strong>Laredo</strong> as a growing community hasout grown it’s boundaries . <strong>Laredo</strong>was noted as the 2th largest growingcity right behind Las Vegas.• <strong>Laredo</strong> has a Population of 200,000residents and it’s sister city has apopulation of 600,000 residents.• <strong>Laredo</strong> is the # one inland port in theUnited States with 8,000 trailerspassing through the city of <strong>Laredo</strong>with almost half carrying HazardousMaterials as their loads.


<strong>Laredo</strong> Outlook<strong>Laredo</strong> Outlook• <strong>Laredo</strong> has four <strong>International</strong>Bridges with the vision of buildingthe fifth <strong>International</strong> bridge.• <strong>Laredo</strong> carries 45 % of the 66% ofthe NAFTA trade in Texas.• <strong>Laredo</strong> has over 2000 warehouseswith 600 of them mostly storingHazardous Materials.• <strong>Laredo</strong> being a port city and themain NAFTA corridor is a likelytarget vulnerable to Terrorism andBio-Chemical Terrorism. The<strong>Laredo</strong> <strong>Fire</strong> Department has theresponsibility as being the first lineof defense for homeland securityfor the surrounding bordercommunity area and itsneighboring country, Mexico.
