QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED BY RULE FOR MEMBERS’ DELEGATESTO CO-OPERATIVE CONGRESS 2013RULE 1515.2 … the members in each region shall elect one delegate to attend theCo-operatives UK Congress, provided that no member shall be elected to attendCongress who has attended in the same capacity in the preceding year.15.3 No Member shall be eligible to serve as a delegate at Co-operatives UK Congresswho has not been a member of the Society for a period of one year and who hasnot one fully paid up share (£1) standing to their credit six months immediatelyprevious to nomination, and who has not purchased from the Society to theextent of £300 during the Society's trading year immediately precedingnomination.QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR PROPOSER AND SECONDER17.4 No member shall be eligible to nominate or second a candidate who has notbeen a member of the Society for one year, and who has not had one fully paidup share (£1) standing to their credit for a period of one year immediatelyprevious to such nomination.17.5 The following may not nominate or second a candidate:17.5.1 the Chief Executive;17.5.2 members of the Management Executive;17.5.3 the Secretary.CANVASSING17.7 “Any candidate for election who solicits or canvasses votes in the immediatevicinity of any polling station on the day of the election or who requests anyperson to solicit or canvass for his votes on his behalf in the immediate vicinity ofany polling station on the day of the election shall be disqualified.”
