Graduation InformationApril 28, 2012Seaver graduates will assemble at Firestone Fieldhousepromptly at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2012. Leavepurses, briefcases, and nonessential items in your car or withguests. There will be no place to leave personal belongingsduring the ceremony. Honor students should arrive at 9 a.m.to check in and receive honor cords. All others may go directlyto their assigned seats without checking in. Seat assignmentsare made alphabetically, master's degrees first, followed byCEREMONY <strong>INFORMATION</strong>bachelor's degrees. The line of march will be organized by themarshal and faculty ushers. Stay in order as you are usheredto the graduation area, taking the same seat assigned to you inthe assembly area. No one may enter the line of march after ithas begun to move. Watch faculty ushers for cues. Men shouldremove their hats for all prayers. Please be sure that yourguests are aware that it could be quite warm and there is noshade. Sunscreen is recommended.CONGR ATULATIONS TO ALL THE GR ADUATES!The dean will ask the candidates (bachelor's degrees first,then master's degrees) to rise for the president's conferringstatement, and later to rise row-by-row for individualpresentation of diplomas. Upon cues from the faculty ushers,Grad Fest 2012 is a new event added to this year's SeaverGraduation schedule. Grad Fest 2012 will take place onFebruary 9 and 10 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the MalibuBookstore in the Tyler Campus Center. At this event,graduating seniors will have the opportunity to be measuredGr ad Fest 2012march forward to receive your diploma. Enter the stage onthe right, shake hands with the president, exit on the left, andreturn to your seat. Following the benediction, the platformparty will exit first, followed by the faculty, then the graduates.for their cap and gown, have a photo taken for graduationannouncements, order graduation announcements, and turnin both the "Intent to Graduate" form and their "2011-2012College Senior Survey." Please call the Seaver Dean's Office at310-506-4280 for more information.CAPS and GOWNSSeaver College graduates may pick up their gowns andsouvenir caps on Friday, April 27, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. inthe Pendleton Learning Center, Room 125. If you are unableto come at this time, you may arrange for a friend to pick upyour cap and gown for you. Your friend will need to knowyour height and degree, and will need to bring your <strong>Pepperdine</strong>photo identification card. Please wear appropriate attire forthe Commencement Ceremony. Students qualifying for cumlaude, magna cum laude, or summa cum laude will receivehonor cords when they check in on Saturday morning. Please use this photography service and remainseated during the ceremony.
