The watertaxi is due to depart Golden Bay wharf at 8:30amfor Ulva Island Bird Sanctuary.Your morning is spent on Ulva Island Bird Sanctuary. An amazing insight into the natural history, stunning birdand plant life in the southern‐most bird sanctuary in the world. The afternoon is spent discovering the pelagicbirdlife and wildlife around coastal Stewart Island aboard Aurora Charter’s purpose built pelagic charter vessel.<strong>New</strong> <strong>Zealand</strong> is the birding capital of the world, and we have magnificent sea birding at its best. Enjoy wildlifeencounters as well as close proximity to albatross, shearwaters, petrels, terns and many more. Your expectedreturn time is approximately 5:00pm.For kiwi spotting, departure time at Halfmoon Bay wharf is at sunset to watch the largest of the kiwi species -Stewart Island kiwi (tokoeka) in its natural environment. The skipper of the MS Wildfire is Phillip Smith. Pleaseconfirm your attendance directly with him: [219-1144] one hour before departure. He will advise if weatherand sea conditions are suitable for kiwi spotting. Please note if you do not telephone, it is likely you may loseyour place on the trip! Kiwi spotting time is approximately four hours.Please bring a waterproof raincoat/jacket, warm layers of clothing, warm hat and gloves, waterproof leggings(in pocket pouch), good walking shoes, daypack for your personal belongings, snacks/lunch and water.Please bring your lunch and any snacks for the day.
