No individual dog from a litter whelped in theUnited States of America of which both parents areregistered with The American Kennel Club shall beeligible for registration unless the litter has first beenregistered by the person who owned the dam at the timeof whelping, or by the lessee if the dam was leased atthe time of whelping, and, further, that an application toregister such litter is filed with The American KennelClub no later than six (6) months from the date ofwhelping of the litter.An application to register a litter filed with TheAmerican Kennel Club more than six (6) months fromthe date of whelping may be considered for registrationprovided the litter owner supplies such required informationand remits such penalty fee as shall be determinedby the Board of Directors. These restrictionsshall not apply when the delay in filing the litter applicationresults from an American Kennel Club investigationor inquiry, an action of law or other hardship circumstancessatisfactory to The American Kennel Club.An application to individually register a member ofa registered litter shall be valid for a period of twelve(12) months from the date of issue of the application. Anapplication to individually register a member of a registeredlitter filed with The American Kennel Club morethan twelve (12) months from the date of issue of theapplication may be considered for registration providedthe applicant supplies such required information andremits such penalty fee as shall be determined by theBoard of Directors.22
