TAC Action Plan 2004 (2)(1) 2 nd Asia Pacific Young Researcher Award2 nd APB Young Researcher Award will be award at ICC 2005, Korea15-19, May. Timetable and draft of open call as follows.– Young researchers who have been very active in ComSoc publicationand conference activities over the last 3 years are candidates.– Age limit is 35.– Applicants must be members in the Asia/Pacific region (Severaloutstanding young researcher awards can be issued at the same time.)ICC 2004• Approve of the Award, Start Open Call• Negotiation with ComSoc headquarter for Award Ceremony and Budget.• Deadline of Apply, Sep. 1, 2004.Globecom 2004• Report of the Award (May be approval), Inform to the applicantsICC 2005• Award ceremony5

TAC Action Plan 2004 (3)(2) APB sponsored Globecom / ICC BAS sessionTo encourage AP region technical activity and to increase visibilityof AP technologies, TAC will promote BAS session at Globecom orICC.Session title (Tentative)• Mobile network and technology in Asia / Pacific(3) Prepare reviewers list in AP regionTAC will make reviewers list with e-mail and area of interest in APregion. This list may only use for supporting AP technical activities.(4) Co-sponsored AP region workshopAPB will sponsor some technical workshop in AP region. TAC maysupport reviewing and session chair / organizer for this workshop.6

Action Plan 2004 –CCC(2)Regional Chapter Meeting• ICC2005 is recommended because it is one of theComSoc major conferences that will be held in theAsia Pacific region.• ICC2005 (www.icc05.org/main/main.html) will beheld from 16-20 May 2005 in Seoul, Korea.12

Action Plan 2004 –CCC(3)Distinguish Lecturer Tour (DLT)Program• A survey has been conducted by the AP Office toshow the interest of AP ComSoc Chapters inDistinguish Lecturers.• ComSoc HQ has allocates funding for 5 DLTs in2004.• 5 DLTs are planned to cover various geographicalareas such as India, Australia, East Asia andASEAN.13

Action Plan 2004 –CCC(4)Posting Chapter Activities on Web• AP ComSoc Chapters will be urged to post theirchapter activities on APB website.• Experience and ideas can then be shared amongvarious ComSoc Chapters.• APB announcements will be sent to AP ComSocmembers through the AP Office.14
