There are two broad sub-areas under withinthe study of international economics. In the first half of thecourse, sources of comparative advantage, gains and losses fromtrade, the impact of trade on economic growth and effects oftrade policy interventions such as tariff, quota, export subsidiesand voluntary export restraints will be highlighted. Internationalagreements on regional economic cooperation particularly oncustom union will also be discussed. In the second half of thecourse, topics on international finance will include balance ofpayments, macroeconomic policy in the open economy underdifferent exchange rate regimes and the issue of growth, crisisand reform in developing countries.(Ekonomi antarabangsa merupakan bidang pengajian yangmenilai kesan perdagangan barangan dan perkhidmatan sertaperdagangan kewangan. Terdapat dua bahagian dalam kajianekonomi antarabangsa. Dalam bahagian pertama kursus ini,sumber faedah bandingan, keuntungan dan kerugian daripadaperdagangan, kesan perdagangan ke atas pertumbuhan ekonomidan kesan polisi perdagangan seperti cukai, kuota, subsidieksport dan sekatan eksport sukarela akan diberi keutamaan.Perjanjian perdagangan bagi kerjasama ekonomi serantauterutamanya mengenai kesatuan kastam akan jugadibincangkan.
