After seeking rental assistance, six months later his rent wasincreased and he began struggling again to make ends meet.Joseph slipped into a depression and contemplated suicide. Upon learning of hissituation through his landlord, the Veterans Assistance Fund coordinated with theHomeless Veterans at Retsil to provide him with a mental health evaluation andscreening for residency. Joseph was accepted and resided at Retsil for approximately7 months, allowing him to focus on his treatment and also save money.
