AYSO REGION 111SAN CLEMENTEDear U5 Family,I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to another exciting season of soccer. If you’renew to soccer or even just new to our U5 program, you’re going to find it may be a littledifferent than what you were expecting and a lot more fun than you had hoped! At the youngest ages we’ve found that the best way to learn the game of soccer is to take awayall the pressure of winning and just let the kids concentrate on learning to play the game whilehaving fun. Isn’t having fun what “play” is all about anyway? Our Jamboree program for U5, (under 5), players was designed by AYSO as a way to introduceour youngest new players to the sport of soccer without the pressure of having to worry aboutscores, winning, or learning particular positions. The whole idea of the Jamboree program is tocome out, learn some skills, play some games, and just generally have a great time doing it.That doesn’t mean they don’t get to look like a soccer player though! Everyone playing will geta real soccer uniform that’s theirs to keep. The Jamboree program, like every other AYSO program, relies on volunteers to help keep thingsrunning. So if you haven’t signed up to coach, it’s not too late. We have coach training classescoming up and we can have you ready to participate in the program. Talk about bonding! Youget to spend some really fun time with your young athlete every Saturday of the season if youchoose. The “U5 Jamboree” Page on our website, www.ayso111.com will tell you lots more about ourJamboree program, but here are some important dates to know:Date Time Event LocationThursdayAug. 22 nd 7:00 PM –8:30 PMTuesdayAugust 27 th 7:00 PM –8:30 PMSaturday9:00 AM –September7 th 4:00 PMSundaySept. 8 th 9:00 AM –2:00 PMMandatory U5 Parent Meeting(must attend one meeting, adults only please)Mandatory U5 Parent Meeting(must attend one meeting, adults only please)AYSO Opening DayUniform DistributionU5 Coach TrainingPart 1 & 2San Clemente Community CenterAuditorium100 N. Players are free to go to any one of the threesessions each week and don’t have to go to the same one every time.We really need coach volunteers to keep our programs running smoothly. Don’t worry if youdon’t know anything about soccer, our training programs will teach you all you need to know injust a few hours. Please let me know by return email if you’d like to sign up to coach or justwant to learn more.I’m looking forward to another successful season for our U5 players and look forward to seeingyou out there.Kim PiersonAYSO Region 111U5 Coordinatoru5@ayso111.com
