On our 2006tour of the Pickering WaterfrontTrail with the Trust, I realized thatmany people new to the areawould miss one of the city’s bestwaterfront sites—Home Place. Assomeone familiar with the area,I always think of this stunningcollection of sculptures as partof the Trail—but in fact, to enjoythem, you must take a very shortdetour off the Trail. Signageshould be installed on the Trailto better promote the attractionsand prevent them from beingwell-hidden secrets.” 11 Judith Barker, Whitby HeritageAssociation.Waterfront Trail | Design, Signage and Maintenance Guidelines Update | Section 2 - Signage Guidelines2-25
