There is guidance on how you canensure <strong>the</strong>rmal com<strong>for</strong>t at your workplace <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>HSE publication Thermal com<strong>for</strong>t <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> workplace. 417 You may consider us<strong>in</strong>g effective naturaland/or mechanical general ventilation toprovide <strong>the</strong> fresh air supply.18 As an employer, if you carry out <strong>in</strong>dustrial ornon-<strong>in</strong>dustrial work processes (eg hairdress<strong>in</strong>g,cater<strong>in</strong>g) you will be required to undertake arisk assessment under <strong>the</strong> COSHH Regulations.This means assess<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> risks to health of youremployees who may be potentially exposed tosubstances hazardous to health. You may <strong>the</strong>nneed to prevent or adequately control suchexposure.4
