Efficiency made easy: According to our engineers, the design of the BOGEscrew compressor is very much based on the principles of nature.High outputs, effective oil separation, and an extremely long service life ofthe component parts ensure that energy consumption is optimised.THERMAL ADVANTAGE: THE BOGE COOLING AIR FLOW.Warm air rises: Our engineers harnessed thissimple law of physics in order to make BOGEscrew compressors even more effi cient and toprolong their service life. Cooling air is taken inat the lowest point in the package by a separatecooling air fan and is drawn over the componentparts upwards before leaving the compressor atthe highest point – our so called chimney effect.This main cooling air fl ow is many times higherthan the actual cooling air fl ow of the integratedmotor fan. Due to chimney principle, the systemkeeps cooling even during load reversal.Efficiency advantage: The intake fi lter ispositioned in the coolest part of the coolingairfl ow and takes in the air for compression atthe lowest temperature. This results in anoptimised volumetric effi ciency and output fromthe compressor. The air/oil cooler, on the otherhand, is positioned at the top of the compressorstation. The cooler is generously dimensionedand, in conjunction with the cooling airfl ow,provides for the lowest possible internal cabinettemperature as well as discharge compressedair temperature. When connected directly toducting, the cooling air can be removed withoutany problems or recovered and easily redirectedto supplement space heating.Service life advantage: Motor, switch cabinetand all electric components are positioned atthe intake of the main cooling airfl ow andbenefi t from the coolest air. As a result thesecomponents do not overheat either in load or inidle mode which means their service life isextended considerably. There are no heat sinkswithin the cabinet in either operating mode.GRAVITY ADVANTAGE: THE BOGE OIL SEPARATION SYSTEM.Oil always flows to the lowest point:Therefore our engineers have positioned the oilpre-separator horizontally at the lowest point ofthe system. Also due to rapid reduction of thecompressed air speed after compression bulk oil”rains” from the compressed air into thereservoir – a most effi cient form of oilpre-separation.Efficiency advantage: The BOGE oilseparation system is designed to minimiseinternal pressure losses and to ensure a residualoil content of 1-3 mg/m 3 in every operatingphase. The horizontal combi-tank ensures a lowfoam level at load reversal virtually eliminatingthe risk of bulk oil reaching the separatorcartridges.Long-life service advantage: BOGE oilseparator cartridges have a long service life –not only as a result of the highly effective oilpre-separation but also because of the largesafety distance between the oil surface and theseparator that prevents the oil from migratinginto the separator cartridge.Screw Compressors 5

Welcome to BOGE!INTELLIGENT SAVINGSPerfectly controlled output: BOGEfrequency controlled screw compressorsWhen there is a fl uctuating compressed airdemand, the BOGE frequency controlled screwcompressors works strictly in accordance withthe compressed air demand by producing theexact volume of compressed air at the pressurerequired.The volume fl ow is continually adjusted between25 and 100 percent – correctly specifi edfrequency controlled compressors shouldeliminate expensive idling times and even out airdemand fl uctuations. Energy costs can thereforebe reduced considerably.When a frequency controlled compressor is usedalongside a fi xed speed compressor additionaladvantages can be achieved. The fl exible speedadaptation of the airend also allows for pressureadaptation. Changing the pressure value of thefrequency compressor automaticallysynchronises the output quantity. A 13 barmachine can therefore be transformed into an 8bar machine yielding a correspondingly higheroutput – without any expensive remodelling ordesign related modifi cations.
