January - April <strong>2013</strong>Connection Incentive OffersTerms and ConditionsApplicants are advised that the full terms andconditions of the offer comprise the ‘StandardTerms and Conditions’ coupled with thosespecifically applicable to the offer chosen.1. In these Conditions “<strong>Phoenix</strong>” means <strong>Phoenix</strong>Natural Gas Limited being the networkoperator, having its Registered Office at197 Airport Road West, Belfast BT3 9ED;“Connection” means the ‘Free Connection’to the “<strong>Phoenix</strong>” network where the meterapparatus termination point is no greater than2 metres along the gable wall; “QualifyingProperty” means a domestic property withinthe area in which natural gas is currentlyavailable and within which “<strong>Phoenix</strong>” islicensed (pursuant to the Gas Order (NI) 1996)to convey natural gas and where there is asuitable distribution pipeline within 50 metresof the curtilage at the front of the “QualifyingProperty” ; “Applicant” means the owner ofthe “Qualifying Property”; “Claimant” beingthe owner and occupier of the “QualifyingProperty” seeking an incentive payment.FREE connection to a natural gasmeter worth up to £7502. A “Connection” to a “Qualifying Property”is available to all “Applicants” regardless asto whether they avail of any other incentiveoffer. A “Connection” is only available for thefirst connection to a “Qualifying Property”.“<strong>Phoenix</strong>” will arrange to connect the“Qualifying Property” and install our meterapparatus, which is currently worth up to£750.3. “<strong>Phoenix</strong>” will install and maintain the gasservice and meter apparatus but the meterbox/housing will form part of the fabric of the“Qualifying Property” and will therefore bethe responsibility of the “Applicant” to ensurethat it is adequately maintained so as not tocompromise the safety and integrity of themeter apparatus.4. ”<strong>Phoenix</strong>” will arrange a “Connection” to a“Qualifying Property” only when the “Applicant”signs a “<strong>Phoenix</strong>” Gas Connection Agreement,choses a preferred gas supplier, engages aGas Safe registered installer to undertake theinstallation of a gas central heating system orappliance and requests/agrees a connectiondate with “<strong>Phoenix</strong>”. Where the “Applicant”is also wishing to take advantage of the NIExecutive Boiler Replacement Allowance theymust confirm that their grant application hasbeen approved.5. In all instances the location of the meter at the“Qualifying Property” and the application ofany associated charges will be determined by“<strong>Phoenix</strong>”.6. Where “<strong>Phoenix</strong>” are requested to connecta “Qualifying Property” whereby the gasservice or distribution pipe has to be laidin or through land/property not exclusivelyowned by the “Applicant” an ‘Agreement toPermit the Installation of a Gas Supply Pipeand Gas Apparatus’ must be provided to“<strong>Phoenix</strong>” by the “Applicant” prior to the startof construction.Standard Terms & Conditions(For All January - April <strong>2013</strong> Schemes)7. To qualify for any Scheme “Claimants” mustcontact “<strong>Phoenix</strong>” Customer Services betweenJanuary 1st <strong>2013</strong> and April 30th <strong>2013</strong> torequest a “Connection”8. The January - April <strong>2013</strong> Schemes do notapply to:-a. “Qualifying Properties” that already have anatural gas connection, whether or not naturalgas has ever been consumed.b. Any new build property or existingproperties undergoing an extension orextensive renovation.c. Any “Claimant” for the January - April<strong>2013</strong> Schemes who is also eligible for grant11


12assistance of any kind (usually availablefrom a Governmental direct or sponsoredorganisation or charity) for the installation ofany gas appliance or central heating system.d. Owners or tenants of public or private rentalproperties.e. Any central heating installation carriedout by an installer who is not registered with“<strong>Phoenix</strong>” to offer the January - April <strong>2013</strong>Schemes. (Installers listed on the <strong>Phoenix</strong>Natural Gas website are registered). Theexception to this rule is that a Gas SafeInstaller, not necessarily registered with“<strong>Phoenix</strong>”, can undertake heating installationsunder the NI Executive funded BoilerReplacement Allowance.f. Existing boiler conversions from LPG tonatural gas, unless the central heating boiler isalready SEDBUK A rated.g. Any heating installation undertaken wherethe “<strong>Phoenix</strong>” Registered Installer does notsupply and physically install the boiler, controls,associated pipework, radiators etc.9. “<strong>Phoenix</strong>” may at its absolute discretion:a. Withdraw or amend the January - April<strong>2013</strong> schemes at any time without prior noticeor redress.b. Vary the eligibility terms and conditions.c. Reduce or extend the time limit for thecompletion of the installation of the specifiedappliance or central heating system to qualifyfor the January - April <strong>2013</strong> Incentives.10. “<strong>Phoenix</strong>” recommends that customers getat least three competitive quotations fromdifferent Gas Safe registered installers.11. “Claimants” will be able to claim the Oil BoilerScrappage Scheme only if they employ a GasSafe registered installer who is also registeredwith ‘<strong>Phoenix</strong>’ at the date the ‘QualifyingProperty is connected to the “<strong>Phoenix</strong>” network.12. ‘<strong>Phoenix</strong>’ will not accept liability for anyequipment installed or quality of workperformed by any installer. Any agreementmade, even with regards the acceptanceof these ‘offers’, is between the “Claimant”and their installer, including any financialtransactions.13. The recommended minimum technicalspecification for a central heating install islisted on page 8 of the “<strong>Phoenix</strong>” January -April <strong>2013</strong> brochure.Oil Boiler Scrappage Scheme - £40014. “Claimants” installing a SEDBUK A rated highefficiency natural gas condensing boiler andfull controls upgrade, where appropriate, mayqualify for the Oil Boiler Scrappage Scheme.15. In these Conditions the “Offer” means the OilBoiler Scrappage Scheme <strong>2013</strong> whereby the“Claimant” will receive up to £400. The cashback will be paid against the gross price of thenatural gas central heating installation.16. To obtain the Oil Boiler Scrappage <strong>2013</strong> Offer:a. The “Claimants” “<strong>Phoenix</strong>” RegisteredInstaller, after completing the heatinginstallation must discount the final invoice byup to £400. Where the “<strong>Phoenix</strong>” RegisteredInstaller total invoice is less than £400 this willbe the amount paid.b. The “<strong>Phoenix</strong>” Registered Installer will thenrecover up to £400 direct from “<strong>Phoenix</strong>”.The owner of the “Qualifying Property” cannotclaim the cash back direct from “<strong>Phoenix</strong>”.c. The claim documentation must be receivedby ‘<strong>Phoenix</strong>’ within 63 calendar days (includingany public holidays) of the actual meter installdate. Claims received later than 63 days afterthe meter installation will not be processedunder any circumstances.17. This offer can be used with the ‘FreeConnection to a Natural Gas Meter’ offer butcannot be used in conjunction with any otheroffer made available by “<strong>Phoenix</strong>” or any otheragency (see 8c).Gas Appliance Offer - £40018. In these conditions the “Offer” means the ‘GasAppliance Offer’ where an appliance is eithera natural gas burning cooker, hob, gas fire ortumble drier. For the purpose of this offer anappliance is not a central heating boiler.19. To obtain the ‘Offer’:a. Where the Gas Safe Registered Installer andappliance purchase final invoices total lessthan £400 this will be the maximum amountclaimed.b. The “Claimant” must complete a customerclaim form which can be downloaded fromour website. Where a “<strong>Phoenix</strong>” RegisteredInstaller is engaged by the “Claimant” they canclaim the cash back on the “Claimant’s” behalf.Under this “offer” the installer has to be Gas

When submitting the claim the “Claimant”must provide a receipted copy of the finalGas Safe Registered installer’s invoice for thenatural gas heating installation. This invoicemust show the full allowance granted by theNI Executive funded ‘Boiler ReplacementAllowance’ and include the make and model ofthe SEDBUK ‘A’ rated boiler installed.c. The Gas Safe Registered Installer may notclaim the Support Payment on the “Claimants”behalf.23. This offer can be used with the ‘FreeConnection to a Natural Gas Meter’ offer butcannot be used in conjunction with any otheroffer made available by “<strong>Phoenix</strong>”.Flexible Finance OptionTerms & Conditions24.
