All other material like Drawing Board (1/2 imperial size) , colours should be broughtby the candidates on their own while coming for theAptitude TestEVALUATION CRITERIA:1. Basic drawing and composition skills.2. Handling of materials and three dimensional modeling.3. Conceptualization, Visualization and Execution capabilities.4.Awareness of and exposure to visual environment.METHOD OF SELECTION :(iv) Candidates obtaining 40 percent aggregate (In case of SC/ST 35%) marks in theAptitude Test will qualify for admission to any of the courses offered.(v) The final selection of the candidates for admission to the college will be made on thebasis of their performance in the Aptitude Test and in the public academicexamination passed by the candidates. For this purpose 60 percent weightage willbe given toAptitude Test and 40 percent to the academic examination.Candidates securing equal marks will be bracketed together. Their inter-se merit willbe determined in accordance with the following criteria :(i) Candidate senior in age shall rank higher in order of merit.(ii) In the case of tie in age also, a candidate getting higher percentage of marksin the qualifying examination shall rank higher in order of merit.(vi) The merit list will be displayed on the Govt. Art college Notice Board and willbe published in the newspaper 'The Tribune'. No separate information with regardto merit list will be sent to the candidates.(vii) Candidate selected as per merit list will have to appear in person before theAdmission Committee constituted by the college along with the original documents/certificates and the original Medical Certificate from any Registered MedicalPractitioner regarding the fitness for study to be retained by college authorities forthe purpose of registration with the Panjab University as per schedule given below :FIRST COUNSELING:U.T. Pool/Special Diploma Candidates : 08.07.2013 (Monday) at 10.00 amGeneral Pool : 09.07.2013 (Tuesday) at 10.00 amSECOND COUNSELING:General Pool/UT Pool/Special Diploma : 30.07.2013 (Tuesday) at 10.00 amTHIRD COUNSELING:General Pool/UT Pool/Special Diploma : 6.8.2013 (Tuesday) at 10.00 am
Govt. College of Art 21(viii)(ix)(x)(xi)(xii)(xiii)(xiv)(xv)Once the admission is allowed by the Admission Committee to the candidate as perhis/her option, fee will be deposited by the selected candidates on the spot.Candidate will give his/her option for any of the four specializations viz. Applied Art,Painting, Graphics (Print-making) and Sculpture in which he/she wants to study atthe time of counseling on 08.07.2013 for U.T. Pool/Special Diploma and 09.07.2013for General Pool in order of merit subject to availability of seat.Eligible candidates as per merit list, who present themselves before the admissioncommittee on 08.07.2013 (for UT Pool/Special Diploma) and on 09.07.2013 (forGeneral Pool) and mark their attendance will only be eligible for second counseling.Those candidates who are offered admission to any of the discipline available at thetime of admission on the specific date but refuse to take admission in availablediscipline shall not be considered for admission later.A candidate who reports late on the day of counseling/interview will not be eligiblefor the branch according to his/her original merit position but will be offered a seatin the branch where the seats are available at that time.If the requisite number of SC/ST or any other reserved category candidates of UTPool/General Pool are not available, the seats will be filled up from the generalcategory candidates.The regular classes of B.F.A./ Special Diploma 1st year shall commence from15.7.2013.The admission of those students who absent themselves from classes continuouslyfor two weeks without the prior permission of the Principal shall stand automaticallycancelled and their seat shall be offered to the next candidate on the merit list at thetime of second counseling scheduled for 30.7.2013 at 10 am subject to fulfillment ofconditions at Sr. (ix) above. All the original merit list candidates already admittedshall also be eligible to appear before the Admission Committee on 30.7.2013. Alladmissions made to the B.F.A courses of the College are provisional and subject tothe approval of the Panjab University. The college will not be held responsible incase admission of candidates is not approved by the University due to any reasonwhatsoever, i.e. for giving incomplete information, concealing necessarycertificate/testimonials, equivalencies etc. The students who are admitted to thecollege are required to submit his/her latest address to the college and change if anyduring the period of study as and when this takes place.There shall be no re-evaluation/re-checking of answer-sheets. Request for seeingthe answer-sheets by the candidates shall not be entertained. The evaluation oncedone by the college shall be taken as absolutely final.
