®agVisit our Webpage: www.metos.atThe portable Evapotranspiration and crop monitor right inyour crop! For all farming operations, information about weather condition in the field is mostimportant in order to make intelligent and cost-effective decisions about disease-, pest-, fertigation- and irrigation-scheduling. If you practice precision farming, µMETOS®AGis the right instrument for you! It is mobile, easy to handle and provides you with all yourneeded information right away.Continuous weather data recording and immediateread-out of:• Hourly and daily weather data• Disease and pest warnings• Crop specific evapotranspiration (Etcrop)• Degree-day accumulation• Chilling units……all at your finger tips!Continuous in-field data on the potential forharmful pests and diseases as well as the calculationof Etcrop is provided automatically and in realtime by this new system. µMETOS®AG makes youaware of what is really happening in your field andhelps you to:• Reduce the risk for disease and pest damage• Save pesticide applications when not needed• Improve yields and quality• Evaluate the specific crop water use of yourplant• Reduce wear and tear on irrigation systemsand reduce labor costs• Prevent excessive leaching of plant nutrients• Be aware of frost and/or other damagingsituations in your fieldPessl Instruments is a worldwidemanufacturer of electronic weatherstations and warning systemssince the 1980's. ®agVisit our Webpage: www.metos.atµMETOS®AG is a small in field battery powered electronic weather station that uses the latest electronicchip technology. It is easy to install and can be used in all crops and climate zones. µMETOS®AG is acost-effective and user-friendly instrument for continuously modeling disease and pest risk, and for calculatingevapotranspiration (ET) on your farm using in-field measurements of temperature, relativehumidity, wind speed, solar radiation, rainfall, leaf wetness and brightness.Displays all information in the field – Themain logger of µMETOS®AG is completelysealed and protected against moisture. A twolinedisplay shows the data from all sensorsdirectly in the field. µMETOS®AG measuresevery five minutes and stores these values upto one year in the logger memory. Calculateddata such as disease and pest risk based ondegree-days, evapotranspiration are available.Accurate and proven sensors• Temperature, relative humidity andglobal radiation - Simple, but effective, design allows accurate measurements inall world climate zones (Temperaturerange: -30 to 60°C (-24 to 120°F). Goodnatural ventilation and protection of thesensor unit against dust, salt etc. allowslong service intervals.Turning Information into ProfitsTransfers data to a PC– The infraredcommunication port used bythe µMETOS®AG is a modern andcost-effective way to transfer datato a PC.Is Easy to Use - The µMETOS®AG isoperated by only one rotary switchand two push buttons. Data arereadily available as a database file (Paradox) oras an ASCII file for Use in external models or forsharing with others.Includes µLink PC Software –The µMETOS®AG comes with acomprehensive but user friendlyWindows software that will helpto analyze the data in almost anyway . One copy of the softwarecan manage as many weatherstations as you wish by using thesmall, portable Pocket PC or PalmOS type PDA or regularNotebook computers. µLink is an open platformfor developers that provide a number ofexport filters to other programs.Fully integrated solution – µMETOS®AG isthe only instrument that will provide you withreal-time information about crop water usebased on ET, disease/pest warnings basedupon model results and current and past weatherin the field.• Leaf wetness sensor – The PesslInstruments sensor originally developedby the South African researcher, Dr. WolfSchwabe, can be used for direct measurementof free water (leaf wetness) in thecrop. The sensor consists of two stainlesssteel electrodes in a plexiglass holder witha fastening clamp and a sensor surfacemade from regular filter paper that is placedunderneath the electrodes. This sensoris a major break-through in leaf wetnessmeasurement technology and hasdemonstrated itself to be a practical solutionthat can be used on all crops. Thesensor needs minimum care and service(replace filter paper every 1-3 months)and adapts better to changing canopyconditions during the growing seasonthan the previous gold grid sensor.• Rainfall – WMO type self-emptyingtipping- spoon type system isexceptionally accurate with a resolutionof 0.2 mm (0.01”). For cold climatesand winter use, a rain collectorheater can be provided.• Wind speed – Rugged WMO approvedsensors are sensitive to the lightestbreeze and withstand high winds (up to200 km/hour) without problems.Technical Feature and Models:µMETOS® SM Logger Power supply: 6- 1.5 Volt AA batteriesDimensions: IP 65 housing – Length 270 mm (11.7 inches) – Diameter 115 mm (5 inches)Working temperature of Logger: -30 to 60°C (-24 to 120°F)Working temperature of Display: 0 to 60°C (30 to 140°F)IR Interface: 115Kb Water-tight connectors Memory size: 512Kb Weight: 600 gr.Model TypeMCR100MCR200MCR250MCR300Standard Sensor ConfigurationTemp./RH/daylengthTemp./RH/daylength/leaf wetness/rainfallTemp./RH/daylength/leaf wetness./rainfall/global radiationTemp./RH/daylength/leaf wetness./rainfall/wind/global radiationTechnical data is indicative and subject to change without notice!
