Who should use this list?This list is intended to be a guide for the public to obtain water use information regarding plant materials, <strong>and</strong> to assistl<strong>and</strong>scape owners <strong>and</strong> professionals in determining what plants may be lawfully planted in the public right‐of‐waypursuant to the <strong>Green</strong> L<strong>and</strong>scape Ordinance. SFPUC encourages water efficient irrigation <strong>and</strong> invites all l<strong>and</strong>scape owners<strong>and</strong> l<strong>and</strong>scape professionals to use this list when designing, implementing, or rehabilitating a l<strong>and</strong>scape area in SanFrancisco.3. What if my low water use plant is not listed here?In addition to the WUCOLS list <strong>and</strong> the SF Street Tree <strong>List</strong>, the SFPUC also accepts water use rankings established by theSunset Western Garden Book (8th or subsequent editions) <strong>and</strong> other alternative sources allowed by law. When using theSunset Western Garden Book, the water use rankings shall be interpreted according to the table below.
