Learning Project Suggested minimum study hours: 50In common with all the modules that form part of the LLB by Distance Learning programme thismodule involves a Learning Project. Undergraduate students at the University of Wolverhamptonare required to demonstrate that they are capable of independent research before they can berecommended for the award of a degree. For distance learning students this is assessed by referenceto the Learning Project you undertake in respect of each module. It requires you to pay specificattention to a list of defined reading. Commonly covering a range of cases and statutes youare required to demonstrate your mastery of the area(s) of law concerned by undertaking a compulsoryquestion as part of the end of module examination. This will commonly take the form of anextended legal problem and require you to demonstrate not only that you understand the areas oflaw concerned but are able to apply them clearly and without error. It could also take the form ofan essay question requiring you to demonstrate an ability to comment on linked areas of law. Particularattention will be paid to the accuracy with which you cite the law and the arguments ofthose responsible for its development. You will also be expected to demonstrate that you understand,and have not been confused by, the ambiguities and contradictions that exist in the undergraduatestudy of the law. This question, which will change with each examination paper, willaccount for 50 per cent of the overall grade and require you to devote one hour of the two-hourexamination period to it. Please note that for each examination you are allowed 15 minutes’ readingtime on top of the two hours you have to write your answers. You may also take into the examinationthe relevant 150 Leading Cases and Statute Book. Please note that these may not containany additional notes or markings.
