Patients were cared for by churchwomen who volunteered as nurses.

Inspiring PatientsThanks, <strong>Upstate</strong>, for all you’ve done for my wife.Just after her 18th birthday, my wife wasdiagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, whichreoccurred twice. Five years ago, she wasdiagnosed with lung cancer, and it reoccurred.Initially, she was told to expect five years. Now,40+ years later, we know that <strong>Upstate</strong> incredibledoctors, staff and technology have allowed us tohave children and to live a long life together.
