The qualifications conta<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>in</strong> Pro Sw<strong>in</strong>g aside, it did mark a major change <strong>in</strong> the<br />

approach <strong>of</strong> Canadian courts to non-monetary judgments. S<strong>in</strong>ce the release <strong>of</strong> the Supreme<br />

Court <strong>of</strong> Canada’s reasons, Canadian courts have enforced foreign non-monetary orders to<br />

enforce permanent <strong>in</strong>junctions aga<strong>in</strong>st Canadian defendants; 61 to freeze accounts held with a<br />

Canadian bank; 62 to recognize stays <strong>of</strong> proceed<strong>in</strong>gs; 63 <strong>and</strong> to recognize procedural orders <strong>in</strong><br />

<strong>in</strong>solvency matters. 64<br />

On the basis <strong>of</strong> Pro Sw<strong>in</strong>g, Canadian courts have also enforced <strong>in</strong>terprov<strong>in</strong>cial<br />

non-monetary orders deal<strong>in</strong>g with such matters as letters <strong>of</strong> request to compel a witness to attend<br />

an exam<strong>in</strong>ation, 65 <strong>and</strong> deem<strong>in</strong>g a solicitor entitled to represent parties to litigation. 66<br />
