Scholarship Consensus Conferenceclass average, and class standard deviation in eachsubject so students know where they stand withrespect to their peers. This subject tracking is especiallyimportant for subjects, such as pathology, pharmacology, and genetics, spread across multipleblocks. The hope is that students will use the informationto gauge their strengths and weakness inthese subjects and appropriately seek help and alsofocus their preparation for USMLE step I. At somepoint, we may require remediation for studentswho fall below 70 percent in a subject. The trackingprocess incidentally yields information about therelative degree of difficulty of the various subjectsand the number of questions asked for each.Standing CommitteesCommittee/RoleEssential Core Course Committee (ECCC)Member, 2002–presentChair, fall 2004–presentEC Steering CommitteeEx-Officio member 2004–presentCommittee for Curriculum and EducationalPolicy (CCEP)Ex-Officio member, 2004–present,1999–2001,School of Medicine Admissions CommitteeMember, 1997–2000, 2004–2005Overview of Committee ActivitiesThis committee meets monthly to discuss issues that affect multiple EC blocksand to share results of curricular and administrative innovations.
