Course DescriptionThe complexity of issues surrounding women's health care makes itincreasingly difficult for practitioners to remain current. Mammogramscreening recommendations, Pap smear guidelines, urinary incontinence,bone density, elective deliveries, cancers of the breast <strong>and</strong>ovaries, <strong>and</strong> peripartum mood disorders are a few prominent concernsin the unique health care issues of women.This conference is designed to bring together experts from a varietyof disciplines to discuss advances in women's health care in oneconcise meeting. Primary care physicians, <strong>and</strong> other health careproviders involved in caring for women, will benefit from participatingin this cutting-edge conference.Course Objectives- Underst<strong>and</strong> current screening recommendations in Women's Healthin the area of Pap Smears.- Underst<strong>and</strong> the debate regarding the new recommendations formammograms.- Underst<strong>and</strong> preventive <strong>and</strong> therapeutic measures in bone density,wound healing, ovarian cancer, breast cancer <strong>and</strong> urinary incontinence.AccreditationThe University of Vermont is accredited by the Accreditation Councilfor Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical educationfor physicians.The University of Vermont College of Medicine designates this educationalactivity for a maximum of 13.5 AMA PRA Category 1Credits TM . Physicians should only claim credit commensurate withthe extent of their participation in the activity.Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academyof Family Physicians, <strong>and</strong> with the American College ofObstetricians <strong>and</strong> Gynecologists.
