The soldiers wereconducting securityoperations in the area whenthe explosion occurred.Killed in action wasWarrant Officer GaétanRoberge, from the 2ndBattalion, The IrishRegiment of Canada. He wasserving as a member of thePolice OperationalMentoring and LiaisonTeam.Also killed in action wasSergeant Gregory JohnKruse, from 2 CombatEngineer Regiment,Canadian Forces BasePetawawa.
