High quality soundUHC-MOS Single Push-Pull Circuit, for balancingdetails and powerThe PMA-2010AE features UHC (Ultra High Current) MOS circuitrythat has been developed to balance advanced speaker drive capabilitiesand improved sound quality. UHC-MOS technology uses a minimumnumber of amplifier elements while achieving approximately 10times the normal supply of current, balancing artistic expression withhigh output power. The PMA-2010AE thus masterfully reproducesthe full sonic range from soft delicate details to powerful transparentclimaxes of a musical performance.Precision Direct Mechanical Ground Construction,to thoroughly suppress vibrationThe vibration-resistant construction was reviewed to ensure that theadverse influences of vibration on sound quality are thoroughly suppressed. The power transformer, a major source of vibration, hasbeen “float” mounted using a variety of vibration-resistant materials. The radiator has been dampened with a vibration resistant materialand a radiator stabilizer, and by mounting the radiator near the foot, interference with the power transformer and other sources of vibrationis minimized. In addition, the depth dimension is shorter thanprevious models and the chassis mounting has been redesigned toimprove resistance to vibration. These and other measures to minimize the effects of both internaland external vibration, such as in the mounting and placement of thevarious parts, contribute to impeccable sound transparency and improvedlocalization.Chassis construction with 6 independent blocksThe PMA-2010AE features a twin monaural axisymmetric constructionwith separate power amp blocks for the left and right channelsto prevent mutual interference between the circuits, shut out noise, and obtain a clear stereo image. Circuits with different signal levelshave been isolated into six separate blocks. And 1.6mm thick blackcoatedsteel plates have been used for chassis to eliminate soundcoloration caused by mutual interference between the blocks andensure the playback of sound with a clear sense of space.- The shorter distance between feet guides vibrationmore easily to the feet.- The radiator mounting to the chassis has been given a lowercentre of gravity to further facilitate vibration guidance to the feet.- Fins of different thicknesses have been used in the radiator toeliminate the adverse effects of resonance.

Minimum signal paths, to protect signal puritySignal paths have been made thoroughly simple and straight toensure a pure playback sound. The minimization of signal pathsprevents signal degradation between circuits. In the amplifi er stage, minimum signal paths reduce noise entering the ground circuit, afundamental component in signal amplifi cation, and stabilizes groundpotential. When the operating foundation of the amplifier circuit isclear, the playback sound is also clear.Precision Signal Ground Circuit, to protect signalpurityIndependent preamp and output stage powersupplies, plus powerful high current dynamicpower circuitThe preamp power circuit that requires stable voltage and the outputstage power circuit that requires a large current supply have beenplaced independently from the stage of the power transformer coils. This confi guration of the power circuitry that eliminates adverse influences caused by the operating current of the output stage signifi -cantly enhances the resolution of the preamp stage handling low-levelsignals. On the other hand, large-current Schottky barrier diodes havebeen used for the rectifi er elements to support the expressiveness ofthe UHC-MOS with their low-noise characteristics and high-speedoperation. And a large-capacity, block-type electrode capacitor foraudio applications has been used for the power capacitor. This powercircuitry supplies clean, stable power to realise a sound space thateminently balances delicate musical nuances and high power. The Precision Signal Ground circuit, a standard for signal amplifi cation, minimizes the effects of noise in the ground circuit to ensure astable ground phase. The PMA-2010AE employs copper plates onthe ground side of the block capacitors for both the left and rightchannels to ensure direct fl ow to the ground. This design results ina clean, transparent sound, since the signal is amplifi ed under idealconditions.Twin transformers with leakage cancelling mountTwo transformers have been connected in parallel to dramaticallyimprove electrical and magnetic characteristics. The Leakage Cancelling(LC) mount-in system, a method of cancelling mutual magneticinfl uences, has been used to minimise the leaking of magnetic fl ux, asource of noise inside the amp. The method in which the transformerswere mounted also used a combination of special resins and vibrationresistantmaterials that produce a fl oating effect to prevent adverseinfl uences from affecting sound quality.Large, high-grade ø27 mm volume control unitThe PMA-2010AE uses an unusually large ø27 mm volume controlunit that suppresses external noise and vibration to enable accuratevolume control.Wide range playback, supporting Super Audio CD,BD and DVD-Audio

Useful FunctionsNewly-designed remote control unitThe remote control unit that comes with the PMA-2010AE also letsyou operate Denon DCD-2010AE CD player. High-grade tactilebuttons and other features make this remote extremely easy to use.Low standby power consumptionThe very low standby power consumption of about 0.3W minimizesthe PMA-2010AE's impact on the environment.PortsIn Phono (MM/MC) x 1CD x 1Tuner x 1Line-1 x 1Line-2 x 1Recorder-1 (Playback) x 1Recorder-2 (Playback) x 1Out Power amp direct x 1Recorder-1 (REC) x 1Recorder-2 (REC) x 1Preout x 1Others• High-performance phono equalizer (MM/MC)• Parts strictly selected for high sound quality• Machined gold-plated pin jacksMain SpecificationsPower amplifier sectionRated outputTotal harmonic distortionInput sensitivity / Impedance80 W + 80 W(8 Ω, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, THD 0.07%)160 W + 160 W(4 Ω, 1 kHz, THD 0.7%)0.01% (rated output -3 dB, 8 Ω, 1 kHz)Power Amp Direct : 0.9 V/47 kΩPreamplifier sectionPhono equalizer rated outputInput sensitivity / ImpedanceLINEPHONO MMPHONO MCRIAA deviation150 mV135 mV / 47 kΩ (Source direct OFF)2.5 mV / 47 kΩ200 μV / 100ΩPHONO 20 Hz - 20 kHz, ±0.5 dB (MM)PHONO 30 Hz - 20 kHz, ±0.5 dB (MC)General CharacteristicsSignal-to-noise ratio (IHF A network)LINE108 dB (Source Direct: ON)PHONO MM89 dB(input terminals shorted, input signal 5 mV)PHONO MC74 dB(input terminals shorted, input signal 0.5 mV)Tone controlsBASS100 Hz, ±8 dBTREBLE10 kHz, ±8 dBGeneralPower supplyPower consumptionDimensions (W x H x D)WeightAC230V, 50 Hz310 W(Stand-by: less than 0.3W)434 x 181 x 435 mm24.0 kg* Design and specifications are subject to change without notice.DENON EuropeDivision of D&M Germany GmbHAn der Kleinbahn 1841334 NettetalGermanyTel.: 0049 2157 1208-0Fax: 0049 2157 1208-10www.denon.deDENON UKDivision of D&M Audiovisual LtdFirst Floor, Imperial House4-10 Donegall Square EastBelfast BT1 5HDNorthern Irelandwww.denon.co.ukwww.denon.eu
