Pharmacontrol ElectronicSecurity for pharma packagingPCE Colour Blister-InspectionHigh-performance colour camera for filling control:high recognition capability, and suited to a wide rangeof products, foils and blister machines.HIGHLIGHTSOne of the most important requirements met by this systemis that it is has the capability to make a precise distinctionbetween colour shades e.g. across tablets with varyingconcentrations of active ingredient. Monitors a widerange of products with all current types of blister foils. Theappliance takes charge of all error carryovers and ejectioncontrol, and has the additional capacity to process externalsensors, e.g. monitoring mend points and foil splice etc.■For tablets, hard/soft gelatine capsules, single and dual coloured products■Monitors up to 10 geometric and colourcharacteristics of tablets and capsules■For transparent, opaque or alu /alu foil■Foil surface control■Monitoring of up to 6 blister lines, with shiftregister and real-time visualisation on themonitor■Control of up to 15,000 tablets per minute■Ideal for continuous and intermittentoperating machines■User-friendly, and simple to operate■Processes up to 11 external failure sensors,e.g. mend foil sensor■Automated teach-in procedure■Fast change of formats from the storedproduct archive■Excellent integration capability with newand existing blister machines available■Module for batch records, data backup, audittrail, password and format administrationcompliant to 21 CFR Part 11

Pharmacontrol ElectronicSecurity for pharma packagingSYSTEM COMPONENTS OPERATION FEATURESThe PCE colour blister-inspection is a highperformancecamera system for new set-ups,or retrofitting onto existing blister machines. As no PC is required to operate the system, only a small amount of space is needed in theswitchboard cabinet. The camera and illumination unit are storedunder a housing with anti-reflection technology, which can be individually tailored to thecharacteristics of a particular machine. The special feature of this system isthe automated teach-in process, whichindependently recognises many parameterswhen new products are introduced, and acceptsthe majority of new settings automatically. Upto one hundred teach-in formats can be saved, rolled out and then re-deployed. The systemis ideal for monitoring single or dual colouredtablets in all current types of blister foils. The SPS module makes it possible for nearly alltypes of ejection (including counterchecks) andall shift register options to be employed. At thesame time, up to eleven additional external baseor cover foil verifications can be included in thecarryover and ejection processes monitored. The tablet inspection system is operated bysimple menu navigation directly via the touchsensitivemonitor. Input options are alwaysintuitively designed and therefore easy for theuser to recognise. All parameters for a teachinblister format (measurement values fortablets, illumination values, carryover valuesetc.) are clearly represented in table format, and can be used for validation purposes. Duringproduction, the ongoing monitoring procedurecan be seen on the monitor, and, in addition, thecontinuously updating shift register distancesare shown, right up to the point of ejection. The batch record includes all important data,e.g. user and machine data, product data, itemand error counters, counters for different errortypes, and so on.The PCE colour blister monitor can communicatevia a Local Area Network interface withoverriding remotely operated systems fortransmitting instructions, interrogating batchrecords and automatic data protection by usingthe corresponding modules.APPLICATIONControl of:size, colour, shape, circumference, surface, breaks, wrong positioning, double fill, for:tablets, pills, oblongs, hard gelatinetwo-piece capsules, soft gelatine capsules, powder doses,in:transparent, colour, opaque, aluminium coldformfoils,on:multi-synchronised and continuously runningmachines.■ Monitors up to 15,000 tablets per minute■ Balances any variations in brightness■ Max. 40 tablets per blister■ Control of up to 6 blister lines, with in-built shiftregister and visualisation on the monitorSecurity■ Asks for password for system and product changes■ Separate password groups for operators, lead workers, technicians and administrators21 CFR Part 11■ Log file as audit trail■ Extended multi-user password rights structure■ Backup-secured product and format data includingprintout, with extended batch recordDisplay■ Choice of monitor in GMP-compliant stainless steelhousing or synthetic model■ Windows, errors, data etc. are highlighted in colour■ Visualisation of the shift registerIllumination■ Housing with anti-reflection technologyCamera resolution■ SVGA (800 × 600 Pixel), colourINTERFACESInput / Output■ 24V DC input for:- Ejection counterchecks- Foil-splice control- Foil-mend point control- Code control- Foil-print control- Seal overload etc.■ 24V DC output for up to six blister tracks e.g.- Machine stop- Control of repeated failures- System check■ RS232 (optional RS485) and LAN interface (TCP/ IP)■ Standardised VDMAXML_P interface (optional)PROTECTION CLASS■ Camera head and illumination in VA protective housingIP54 (optional higher)POWER■ 24 VDC +/-20 %■ Power consumption ca. 300 mASubject to technical changes.Pharmacontrol Electronic GmbHGernsheimer Strasse 2D-64673 Zwingenberg / Germanyphone +49 62 51 85 45-0fax +49 62 51 85 45-111e-mail info@pharmacontrol.dewww.pharmacontrol.de
