Lovers of modern and contemporary art should not miss out
on the opportunity to visit an elegant nobleman’s mansion, a
former beer brewery housing an important cultural trust and
a museum surrounded by vineyards.

Palazzo Mazzetti is the most elegant 18th century nobleman’s
mansion in Asti. Painstaking renovation works restored it to
its former splendour, and it has been a museum and a temporary
exhibition venue since. In 2011, a civic picture gallery was set up
in the building. Two important works of art by Giacomo Grosso
and Lorenzo Delleani, dating back to 1895, can be admired on
the ground floor. The second floor houses sections dedicated
to modern and contemporary art, and includes works acquired
by the town council from Piedmont artists such as Soffiantino,
Paulucci, Pittatore, Nogaro and Quaglia, and other artists of the
calibre of Guttuso, Spazzapan and Vespignani.
