<strong>Combined</strong> <strong>Federal</strong><strong>Campaign</strong>The <strong>Combined</strong> <strong>Federal</strong> <strong>Campaign</strong> (CFC) is the only authorizedsolicitation of <strong>Federal</strong> employees in their workplaces on behalf ofapproved charitable organizations.The CFC began in the early 1960’s to coordinate the fundraisingefforts of various charitable organizations so that the <strong>Federal</strong> donorwould only be solicited once in the workplace and have the opportunityto make charitable contributions through payroll deduction.<strong>Federal</strong> employees continue to make the CFC the largest and mostsuccessful workplace philanthropic fundraiser in the world. Continuing along-standing tradition of selfless giving, in 2009, <strong>Federal</strong> employeesraised over $282 million dollars for charitable causes around the world.

Volunteer Responsibilities✴ Inform employees of the opportunity to donate to their favoritecharity through the CFC.✴ Inform employees of e-pledge option.✴ Explain payroll deduction option. Contributions can also becash or check.✴ Distribute CFC materials to those who do not wish to use e-pledge option: Pledge Form & Charity List.✴ Answer questions about the CFC and listen to concerns aboutgiving.✴ Thank each employee for their attention whether or not theydecide to contribute.

CFC Rules to Live By✴ Contributing is an option for all <strong>Federal</strong> Employees,no one should feel that they were forced to give.✴ All donor information is confidential, DO NOT displaylists of donors/non-donors.✴ ALL charitable organizations are equalin the eyes of the CFC.

Top Perch AwardA traveling trophy given to the Agency that has thebest overall performance.Agencies will be grouped by contribution amounts.One Top Perch Award will be given to the Agencywith the best overall performance in the followingcategories:*Total Contributions of $25,000 or more*Total Contributions between $10,000 - $24,999.99*Total Contributions between $1,000 - $9,999.99*Total Contributions of less than $1,000.00


Top Perch AwardTo qualify for the Top Perch Award, an Agency must have an increase incontributions over the prior year, participation % and per capita contribution amountmust meet or exceed that of the overall campaign.The winners will be based on a weighted combination of % increase in totaldollars, per capita & participation, with extra points for attending a training sessionand the kick-off, having an educational fair or a charity speaker at a staff meeting,and coordinating special events. In the event of a tie, the LFCC will determine thewinner.

The Life of a Pledge✴FEDERAL PAYROLL OFFICESEach Payroll Office sends 1 electronic transfer to the CFC bankaccount for the total of all employee allotments for each payperiod.✴LOCAL CFC OFFICEAt the end of each calendar quarter, the local CFC office sends a checkto the designated charitable organizations. Amount is based on totalreceipts for the quarter.

Security Features??????Firewalls - CFC Nexus utilized state of art Internet technologies to ensuredata transactions are safe. SSL certification by Versign, an industry leader in security,is employed for all areas of the site concerning pledging or the reporting of specificpledge information.SSN entered by each donor is stored in the database only long enough for thepayroll coordinator to process the pledge. Once processed, that sensitive data iswiped from the system and can not be recovered. While in the system, it isencrypted and secured in several different manners.
