The airport is the base operation for both privateand commercial helicopters and fixed wing aircraftoperators, and is operational 24hrs per day, 7 days aweek. A section<strong>of</strong> the runway (40’ x 1000’) was resurfaced in 2005. The <strong>Yorkton</strong> <strong>Municipal</strong><strong>Airport</strong> is the busiest airport in the southern part <strong>of</strong> theprovince after Regina.In comparison to other cities the size <strong>of</strong> <strong>Yorkton</strong>, such asNorth Battleford and Swift Current, annual movements atthe <strong>Yorkton</strong> <strong>Airport</strong> are 4-5 times greater. (Source: StatisticsCanada Annual Movement Data).The total movements in 2007 for <strong>Yorkton</strong> were an impressive10,129 compared to 63,690 for Regina. In 2011,the estimated movements were 13,028. It is a busy facilityand getting busier.3
