Hicksville Cemetery<br />
Of all the smaller cemeteries in <strong>Sacramento</strong> that I’ve visited, the four acre<br />
Hicksville Cemetery on Arno Road, just off Highway 99 in Galt was the best kept<br />
in my opinion. A wire fence enclosed the cemetery and its green lawn was<br />
closely cropped. Various types of trees (including pines and a majestic<br />
eucalyptus, dotted the grounds, enhancing its beauty. Many of the markers were<br />
old and hard to read. There were even a few that were handmade from cement<br />
with names and dates handwritten on them. The cemetery was established in<br />

was just the word Mother 1837-1911 so I would assume the mother had died and<br />
those were her children.<br />
