Theschool environment, attitudes of staff and other pupils, as well aswhat children learn in the class room, have a major influence onthe development of their knowledge and understanding of health.”We call on Government, schools, LEAs and PCTs to reconise notjust the legal oblication, but the moral and ethical obligation toprovide a safe and healthy enviroment for children with diabetesDiabetes must be managed 24 hours a day seven days aweek. We cannot ignore it during school hours justbecause it is inconvient.16
