Washington County PublicHealth Director, Danielle Pettit-Majewski says hydration is very important. She says to avoid alcoholic beverages, as they will further dehydrate the body. Also, if working outside or exercising in the heat, drink two to four glasses, or16 to 32 ounces, of water per hour. She notes that this is approximately half ofwhat most people drink in a day. She recommends, if possible, do outdooractivities, such as exercising or mowing the yard, during the morning or in theevening to avoid the heat of the day. Also, be aware of the hot temperaturesaffecting animals, they should have access to a cool place and water.Author: Sally Y. Hart - KCII News
