HADRAT juwairiyAHto last for a whole year. These were also used to take care ofthe guests and to give to charity. 12During these hard times, the Holy Prophet sa once saidto his wives, in accordance with a revelation from Allah theAlmighty:“If you wish for all the luxuries of life then come and letme give you all the material things of the world. However, ifyou choose this you cannot remain my wives. I will bid youfarewell with generosity and kindness. But, if you value Godand His Messenger, and want rewards in the Hereafter, thenlisten! Those righteous ones among you who put God’spleasure before all else will be the recipients of great rewardsfrom Him.” 13None of his wives chose to take up the wealth of theworld and separate from the Holy Prophet sa . But were not allthe bounties of both worlds created for the Holy Prophet sa ?Then why did he prefer to lead such a simple life? It wasbecause his only ambition in life was to please Allah theAlmighty. The purpose in life of the Holy Prophet sa was notto enjoy the riches of the world. The Holy Prophet sa said, “MyGod gave me the chance to have the whole valley of Makkah22
