Hickey Center can providecaregivers peace of mind through the Adult Day Care program orthe In-home Care Program.Affordable in-home respite care services are providedby staff members specially trained and experienced in caring forindividuals with memory loss. Respite care services incorporateactivities designed to stimulate mental and physical health, providea safe, nurturing and familiar environment. Assistance withactivities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and meal preparationallow clients to function at the highest level possible whilepreserving their dignity in their own home.The Jud C. Hickey Center for Alzheimer’s Care is a localnon-profit organization with a volunteer Board of Directors. Careis provided by the Center’s director, who is an RN with a master’sdegree in nursing, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and speciallytrained volunteers. We are able to provide quality care toclients and provide peace of mind to caregivers thanks to grants,fundraising activities and charitable contributions. Although theJud C. Hickey Center for Alzheimer’s Care is not affiliated with theAlzheimer’s Association, we work closely with the local chapter.Any individual, who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’sdisease or a related dementia, by a physician, is eligible toenroll in the programs provided. An assessment by the center’snursing staff is required prior to enrollment. An appointmentshould be made for an assessment; caregivers and healthcare professionalsare invited to visit.
